How Would YOU Reuse A Star Trek Prop?

That's crazy! I like it!!

I've got some ideas for some photo-manips, but just need to get the time to do them...the screen grabs will be the most time-consuming part...

Glad you like the thread! :)

Something to kill time until the new movie comes out...and as you say, it's fun to speculate on how the would've reused the props in a hypothetical "Season 4".

...the rock mysteriously shaped as a penis...would be we placed in various....*coughs*

Two words:

Ensign Mugato.

Is Angelique Pettyjohn considered a prop?

Her acting was wooden and speaking of wood.........

You have a VERY tight budget and Irwin Allen has taken over as producer.

Or Fred Freidberg.

I think Irwin Allen sank to greater depths...but, I'm no fan of FriedBooger either...

In it's first year, Space: 1999 looked like a mini motion picture, but when FF took over it looked cheaper than TOS's third season. Then there's that episode of 1999 with the talking plants... oh wait, didn't they do that on LiS too?

:guffaw:That's GREAT!!! And it's a great screen cap to work from...just take a look at the look Scotty is giving Kirk! LOL!!

I hope they don't give that Mugatu wine every night...and Xanax...

Cos you know what happens to primates that imbibe that stuff!

I'm a huge fan of 1999 -- Year One. You're right...Year Two was cheesy. The talking plant episode (The Rules of Luton) was actually ghost-written by FriedBooger so, yeahhhh....

And I don't know if it's true or not, but there is/was a rumor that FriedBooger did the voice for the robot Brian in the episode "Brian the Brain". If so (and even if not) OMG, what an irritating voice!

FriedBooger got a reputation as a "series killer" -- he worked on the last season of a quite a few shows, including the Six Million Dollar Man and Superboy (which was laughably bad). The production values of Superboy make 1999 Year Two look like 2001: A Space Odyssey.

FF gets a bum rap. His budget was cut and the rats were deserting. Season three has some pretty good eps if one has ears to hear them. I was just remembering Req for Methuselah. Isn't that a season three ep? It's actually a science fiction story done on star trek, rather than just another Trek episode (K & S go to the ____ planet and escape).

As for props: take the horned dog that almost bites Scotty in Enemy Within. Captain Kirk gets a dog-like pet named Poorhouse for season four when Fred Freiberger gets an even smaller budget and the show is renamed "Enterprise."

I will say this -- FF's work on Trek was the best that I had seen him do. That should be his legacy. Season 3 of Trek was not bad (the ones I consider truly bad are "And the Children Shall Lead", "Plato's Stepchildren" and "The Way to Eden")...in fact, I like quite a few season 3 episodes.

Poorhouse......I like it! Is that a play on the name "Porthos"?

We've all seen the reused props thread -- and it's cool and all -- but, if Star Trek had gone on to more seasons than just three how would YOU have reused existing props from other episodes.

I would use George Takei as a coat rack.

Joe, tweed
