How would you rate the DSC Main Theme amongst these original themes?

I must admit, I have truly fallen in love with the DSC main theme, and I love how Jeff incorporated into several episodes thus far! I wonder how you'd rate it amongst other original ST series themes?

I'm gonna include the following:
TOS: the main theme
TNG: the Inner Light theme (arrangement from 'the Best of Star Trek' CD).
(Note: why this and not the main theme? Well, I really want to use pieces that were specifically written for the shows. The TNG main theme therefor is excluded, and I think that the Inner Light theme is a defining piece of TNG music.)
DS9: the main theme
VOY: the main theme
ENT: Archer's Theme
(Note: 'Where My Heart Will Take Me' is excluded 'cause the song was not originally written for the series, so I chose the -imo very underrated- Archer's Theme instead.)
DSC: the main theme

How I'd rate them:

1. The Inner Light theme
2. TOS main theme (the fanfare is THE defining Trek music in my book)
3. Archer's Theme (so underrated)
4. DSC main theme (once you get it, wow...)
5. VOY main theme
6. DS9 main theme

I love ALL of them by the way!

They are all good. Too bad TNG & ENT couldn't have their own theme

TNG does have its own theme known as the Picard theme. It's originally from the alternate main title theme that McCarthy composed. Despise Goldsmith's TMP theme being chosen, McCarthy still used the Picard theme extensively for the first four seasons. Likely because of Berman, it was never heard in later seasons. You can hear it at 1:00.

If you're gonna go for an alternate TNG theme, might as well use the First Contact theme...

I really like the Discovery theme, but — just as with the episodes themselves — ranking it amongst earlier Star Trek efforts is tough, because they have the advantage of having nostalgic feelings added to them. I don't think I like it better than McCarthy's epic Deep Space Nine theme or Goldsmith's grandiose Voyager theme, but I sure like it better than “Archer's Theme” (which is definitely underrated, yes) and the music from “The Inner Light”. Comparing it to the original Alexander Courage theme is hard as well, because musically I find it so removed from the rest.

Discovery's theme is sweeping and full of wonder and excitement for the strangeness in the universe and the self. I could have done without the TOS bookends and I wish it were a little “louder“, but I really like it. Will be interesting to see where I rank this in a few years.

Discovery's theme sounds like some Philip Glass castoff, something he wrote in the margins of the newspapers when in the bathroom. I like minimalism, but this is very generic and uninspired.

Too hard for me to rate the themes for most of the shows but I don't hate it so far. It's up there with all of them except Enterprise. A bag of cats fighting inside a metal trash can would be better than Enterprise's theme.

I've watched the opening sequence dozens of times and can't recall a note of it other than the familiar opening and closing notes.

Funny, I can even hum the theme to Westworld from memory. Certainy The Orville, Galaxy Quest and all the previous Trek themes. nuBSG, not so much...oldBSG, definitely.

The STD theme is forgettable.

Near or at the bottom. Even Archer's Theme, as underwhelming as it was, was something I could hum after hearing it a few times. The DSC theme not so much. It's not memorable.

i know you excluded tng and i understand why but i cant rate them excluding the tng theme. im to simple minded and unable.

also the heart song for ent. im too simple minded to exclude it. it is the theme to the show. im unable to separate them.

i still take ent. there is at least a theme to it...though a poor song imho.

discovery sounds like a music bed to an insurance commercial. i dont really hear a theme there.
