How would you like to modify a Borg vessel into a luxury starliner?

I think it'd be too much of a scientific or strategic curiosity for it to really becomes something like that, at least from people in the Alpha Quadtant. The one cube they got whole they turned into a laboratory or something.
On the other hand, perhaps some hillbilly aliens out in the galactic sticks could turn one into something like a funpark/haunted house type thing, especially if it had been out of action for a while and people didn't take it seriously.
"Visit the creepy deactivated Borg cube in Omega Sector. Don't worry it's safe!"
And then it comes back to life...

I am certain that the Borg who are now separated from the original Collective have made all sorts of modifications to their various ships. I could envision a Borg cube luxury skyliner, populated by a Borg Collaborative hippy commune.

Great idea, thanks for sharing. :techman:

Hollow it out with a transparent top and bottom, leave only a about 50 meters of usable space on the sides (which would still be a ton of space considering the size), the inside would be lined with massive balconies and open spaces and a few bridges spanning the cube. The views would be pretty impressive if they visit nebulas, quasars or whatever. And even if they're just in open space it could be an experience.

This is another *really* good idea. They could have giant 3D cabaret shows and other forms of entertainment projected in to the cubes central void at showtimes, which people can also watch from their balconies. :bolian:

Well, I guess it'd be a similar process as what the Romulans did with the Borg Artifact in S1 of Picard, where they had converted some of the cube's interior into living quarters, lounges, eating areas, a chapel and a sock hop dance arena. So, similar process with an emphasis luxury, rest and relaxation and voila, your Borg cube is now a luxury liner.

I wouldn't. Just leave it as it is, and sell a stay on it as 'a haunting experience' that will stay with you for the rest of your life! Complete with actors playing Borg.

If you think that's demented, think of those hotels that emulate a prison experience. One even with actors playacting KGB personnel in an actual former KGB prison. Apparently there's a market for it.

Then they can do a Jurassic Park style episode where the attractions come alive and assimilate everyone…. :D

Or a starfleet vessel?

Wouldn't the Borg ship be screwing up the 55mph-in-space thingy from the season 7 story? Not that much came out of that episode, though it's implied in later episodes - the ones that also remember that it's okay this time to go above warp 5 and all apart from when they do anyway cuz of the plot and stuff - the 1701-D-refit with third nacelle, Voyager with the flappy bird nacelles, and so on, arguably mitigate the issue. Whatever the Borg is doing may circumnavigate the problem entirely, but they don't share technologies in the same way...

Later starships had two nacelles that didn't retract, suggesting that it was possible to either build environmentally safe warp engines in a conventional design, or modify existing ones.
