How would you kill off Jean-Luc Picard?

While on an archaeology dig, plundering Vash's treasures; death by jamaharon. ;)
I was thinking along the same lines, but with Lwaxana Troi....

At Picard's moment of death, Q transforms him into pure energy, which he sends backwards in time to strike a certain spot in what will one day be known as Labarre, France. Having convinced Q of humanity's worth, Q uses Picard as the catylyst for the creation of all life on Earth.

Moments before death, Q makes him a Q and he romps happily through time and space.

Just don't have him die of Irumodic Syndrome.

I hope Picard doesn't get the disease "for real" like he did in AGT's future. Didn't he ask Beverly to check him for it when he got back to normal time and she said he could still develop the disease? :(

I wouldn't. Picard couldn't die anyway, he's too awesome.

Charlie

That's one fucking creepy avatar Charlie!

Picard dies of old age/boredom standing in line waiting to use the 1701-D's one on-board toilet!

I always wanted a phaser burst to come through that window over his head and make him explode-above all his head.

I agree. That would be an awful way to see the captain go.

I did some checking. Picard asks Beverly to check him for Irumodic Syndrome in the 'present', but the Q time-travel plot is still going on at that point. When the whole thing is over, he doesn't ask for a check. So it could be that Picard will never even be at risk for getting IS, let alone actually get it, assuming the whole IS thing was another part of Q's illusion.

That being said: Picard should never retire. He should die while still on active duty. True, he is 74 years old as of Nemesis, but that's chump change as far as lifespans go - in the DS9R, Elias Vaughn is over a hundred and is still in peak physical condition.

The age span in TNG+ is over 150, so Picard is only just reaching middle age by the end of his run.

Q turning Picard into a Q wouldn't be too shabby. :) Very interesting idea, in fact.

what would be a fitting end to our beloved Captain, something fitting of his stature and reputation?

The next time the ship is in a "2 seconds to death" situation, and Picard calls for a meeting in the conference room; Riker pulls a phaser, screams "We DON'T have time for THIS!!", and vaporizes him. :borg:

For added dramatic (but ripoff) effect, the first person whom Picard-turned-Q talks to is his grieving wife, briefly snatching her from her sickbay duties (and perhaps even raising her ex-hubbie from the dead, too). :D
