How would you kill off Jean-Luc Picard?

Die on the job with a red hot alien babe less than half his age after a career saving the universe and delivering show-stopping speeches.

Retire would the only option he would do and take over the vineards in France...

That would probably be my first choice if they didn't kill him off. Hell, I'd like to retire that way!

One day, an old man, former captain, former ambassador, vineyard tender in LaSalle, France... sits on a porch and passes away.

He wakes up, he sees a bright white light everywhere, and then hears a familiar voice... 'Bonjour, Mon capitan. Welcome to the Continuum. Dreadful place, I know, we really should redecorate... still, there are worse places to spend eternity...'

;)

LOL, this is an entertaining thread, but I am not feeling very creative right now. Keep 'em coming!

Ha!

That's good.

One thing I might've liked would that in the end, after all he's been through and because of the new possibilities opened to Picard by his experiences with Q and Guinan, in the end his physical body passes away but his mind transcends and he becomes an "evolved" being like the Organians/Q/Metrons, a way of letting humanity know for sure what they can become.

So yeah, a variation of that death posted above.

Oh, wait. Maybe I'm getting him confused with Patrick...

Meh. Too Daniel Jackson...

Yeah, but this would've been at the end of "All Good Things" in my version, so it would've been 3-4 years before SG-1 began.

Personally, I can see Picard dying peacefully in his sleep after decades of service both to Starfleet and the Diplomatic Corps.

Q takes a practical joke too far when he whisks Jean Luc back in time to meet Sisko just after his wife died.....

By 'treasures' I assume you don't mean an ancient amulet or vase...

:D You are quite correct in your assumption. By 'treasures' I was not referring to any ancient artifact.

The Borg, having assimilated new technologies in the past few years, re-assimilate Picard into the collective without making physical contact with him. Picard assimilates his ship and crew, and begins an attack on the Federation with its enhanced flagship. Riker and the Titan are called into to once again defeat Locutus, but this time he must kill him to stop the Borg. Locutus and the Enterprise are destroyed. Will believes he killed Locutus, but Deanna knows the truth: Picard's will was too strong for the Borg to completely control him. He allowed his Borg ship to be destroyed thus ending Picard's second descent into Hell.

how to Kill of Picard : ( From an Anglo-Saxon living just outside New York City)After his promotion to Admiral and after his appointments as a Federation Ambassador to variuos star sytems in the Federation he would eventually retire to his Vineyard in France. After marrying and starting a family and after he has had enough he would get called back to action one last time where he would end up in a Romulan " cold cell" as a cliff hanger. It woudl allow the Great Picard to return one day and maybe take command in the 27th century of the 25th ship named Enterprise where he would blow the crap out of the bad guys once again. Then after saving the universe again and after a few more mission he would retire to his vineyard which would have been declared a historical landmark. He would die peacefully in his sleep after reading up on the exploits of his progeny. A statue of him would be erected and he would be placed in a mausoleum somewher on Earth. Most likely on his vineyard.

I'd actually always envisioned him taking promotion to rear admiral and becoming the Commandant of Starfleet Academy. Despite Kirk's inability to accept a desk job, I think Picard would serve brilliantly in that capacity ...

... and the kids would be scared shitless of him. :D
