How would you bring Captain Sisko back??

I don't post very many things on here, but there's something that I've always wondered about...Let's say they were to make one more made for TV TNG era movie with the DS9, Voyager, and TNG crew.... or just a DS9 crew movie...how would you bring Captain Sisko back? I've been racking my brains to think of a way to do this, but I can't seem to think of a logical way to do it outside of him popping up from no where...

Some big "Event" moment in Jake's life (or in the life of the Baby Kassidy was carrying at the end of the show). He did say he'd be back, so, some big Life Event for Jake would make perfect sense to be the time he chose.

Essentially, that's how the novels did it. Sisko reappeared from the Prophets about as suddenly as he vanished with them (just in time for his daughter's birth). He gained some insight during his time with the Prophets, but eventually returned as a Human being.

Maybe the same way Shatner got Brooks on camera for the "Captains" interview: Doritos and donuts.

I'm not sure. I kind of liked the writers' original idea of Sisko being with the Prophets permanently. It had more finality to it, and perhaps would have been more of a response to them wiping out the Dominion's 2800 ships.

But, going with what actually happened, I think after spending time with the Prophets, I imagine he would feel that he had unfinished business with both his family, and the Alpha Quadrant in general. I don't think anything big would need to happen to get his attention - he would just want to be there and that would be it. Not much of a story really, but I think that's how it would happen considering how he left Kasidy at the end of the series.

I always wondered what sort of timeframe would elapse before Sisko's return. Being as the Prophets aren't linear, Sisko could spend an eternity with them, and still go back to Kasidy before his side of the bed was cold. But then I also have the silly theory that Sisko had something to do with the Sarah Prophet, who went back in time to ensure Sisko's birth. ;)

^I dunno...I think they would make it such that some time would elapse...that way he can go through some angst due to him being gone from his family and missing everyone.

As for the original question, I could see him coming back with some sort of warning for the federation which he knows about because of his connection to the prophets...coming back to save humanity or something.

What you would need is a simple reason for Sisko returning. Say the whole Prophets vs Pah Wraith war was fleshed out, and I dunno the Fire Caves are not the permanent prison for the Pah Wraiths that Bajoran mythology portrays it to be. I mean what traps the Pah Wraiths? Some sort of temporal barrier or something?

So the Prophets send Sisko as the Emissary to negotiate with the Pah Wraiths to prevent a war when the Pah Wraiths eventually escape. I can just picture the Defiant going through the wormhole, with Kira commanding, and she gets this weird feeling and then BAM! Sisko materialises on the Defiant's bridge and says something along the lines of 'returning for Bajor faces its greatest trial yet'.

Whatever, just one crazy idea.

Jake and Bajor in peril. That'd be sufficient

^^ I don't think it would be a reset button. The Prophets have always said that "They are of Bajor" or something like that, so have Bajor in peril, and who better but the Emissary to step in and deal with it on behalf of the Prophets. After it's done, Sisko decides to stay with his family instead of going back.

I wouldn't bring him back in the same time period at all. Why not have him show up on bajor 200 years after he left? it could launch a whole new series.

Oh, I'm sure they'll get over the loss, but I always liked their family dynamic. The Siskos and O'Briens are really the only families that Trek has ever done. It just makes me sad that Ben won't be around.

there is Quark's family

I disagree. I think it was one one of the best things about ds9. And it is the only time in trek we really get a good look inside the dynamics alien culture without it being seen through a human's eyes.
