How would a fight between Inigo Montoya and Maximus go?

Maximus was a Roman general and then a gladiator. Inigo Montoya(The Spaniard from the Princess Bride) trained to be a sword master for 20 years and did some work as a mercenary to pay the bills. Maximus uses big heavy brutal weapons like a gladius and Inigo uses a very light fast sword. Maximus might also wear armor and use a shield. Who would win in a one on one fight?

That would depend on how many fingers Maximus has.

My money would be on Montoya. He'd be much quicker, even though he's not as heavily armed, and wouldn't tire as soon. I think he'd be able to out-last Maximus.

Right before the "storming the castle-holocaust cloak" scene, you see Inigo discussing that at his best he could kill twenty of the men at the gate. We also see him kill 4 guards in a couple seconds when he confronts the six fingered man.
