How well do you recognise faces? Take the test.

I got a perfect score. But I thought it was too easy. I think someone would have to have been living under a rock in the past fifteen years to get a low score.

No I was very familiar with the people but I couldn't recognise many of them and only got 71%. I've always been bad with face recognition. Sometimes when someone I see everyday changes their hair or clothes, I don't know who they are. :(

Out of 30 faces, you correctly identified 27.
You were familiar with 29 of the people in this test.

If we exclude the ones you were unfamiliar with, you got 93% correct.

My only genuine mistake was confusing Ben Affleck with Ben Stiller. I also missed Tony Blair because it was an awful picture of him. I've been watching prime minister's questions for years so I certainly know what he looks like. I didn't know Rowan Atkinson.

100%.

But it took me a while to remember Jim Carrey's name. Ah, the transience of fame...

I was just reading an introduction to Marcus Aurelius's addresses to himself which remarked that for all his successes as emperor, he would almost certainly have been generally forgotten today if had he not written a series of admonitions to himself which were circulated after his death. (Ironically, Aurelius is dismissive of fame in these writings.) We'd have forgotten even the immortal name of Achilles had the Iliad been lost to the Dark Ages.

^ No, but fame may be as fleeting for the worthy as it is for the frivolous.

(Though I did think Carrey was excellent in A Series of Unfortunate Events.)

To think, one day, you'll all forget even me.

...

What am I saying? The giant statue will always be there as a gentle reminder of my magnificence.

83%. There were a couple of people I was only vaguely familiar with. If I had excluded them, I would have done better.

The only one I truly messed up was Jennifer Aniston.

I'd like to get messy with Jennifer Aniston...

... did I say that out loud?

The lone and level sands stretch far away.

 :techman:

You, sir, know how to appeal to my infinite vanity!

^ I'd love to get messy with her too!

I got 97%

Missed Tony Blair....thought it was Jeb Bush!:wtf:

I missed Tony Blair, Thatcher, and DeNiro. :alienblush:

And I could've sworn I knew what Tony Blair looks like...is that an uncommonly bad picture of him?

Yes, which is why I missed it. Also somehow missed DeNiro. Other than that, I knew them all and got them all right. I'm fine with faces. It's names that flummox me.

Got 'em all, but that picture of Blair really was terrible.

If this was about recognizing non-famous faces (like identifying someone in a photo lineup after a crime) I would have done a lot worse.
