How to make the Bill character interesting... (True Blood)

I've been hearing from fans of True Blood that they think the Bill character is boring and because of that, Sookie should choose Eric over him. If you think that way, how you would make the Bill character interesting enough to be the one for Sookie, to be as equal as a rival for her affections as Eric? Do you think he should be more like Eric-more dangerous, more powerful, more embracing of his vampire side? Do you think the fault lies with Sookie? If yes, how would you fix that?

I'd read the books and have an informed opinion of the matter before asking people "what if?" But that's me.

Having also read the books, this is a non-issue for me. Even as much as the show diverges from the written page (let's face it — they have to, if you want to stretch a 300-page novel into 12 hours of television), I'm still expecting it to keep going in the same general direction as the Charlaine Harris novels.

I myself find Bill a pretty flat character. I've not read the books but frankly I like Eric more and with his emotion to Goddrick(sp) it made him feel more real.

Anyone have some new news regarding True Blood S3?

They started filming it in December, and it should air this summer. Apparently HBO is confident enough they've already greenlit the fourth season.
