How should the Enterprise debut in the Film?

The Question is which Enterprise will we see first? Since there is a good chance time travel is involved in the movie for all we know the movie starts on the Enterprise E with Spock on board for some sort of diplomatic mission. Then he some how goes back in time to "His" Enterprise. Hey you never know ;)

I'm all for something ironical... maybe the crew seeing it in spacedock and as they fly by to their other assignment, Scotty says something like his line at the end Voyage Home:
"The Enterprise? Why in God's name would you want that bucket of bolts?!?"

Or we can go with the blowing up theory... maybe introduce the Captain's cop-out of the Auto-Destruct sequence since Enerprise failed to properly introduce it

How should we see her when she makes her first appearance in the movie? Should it be shot of her on patrol like in the Next Generation films or her sitting in space dock? What about a opening shot of her under Pike in a heated battle or a segment where we see a shot of open space and we hear Captain Pike making his log entry and we then hear him order the ship to drop out of warp and she magically appears right in front of our eyes in all her glory with the original score blazing. What would you like to see?

Coming out of a big egg.

Ya know, that's an interesting point.

All we REALLY know is that "the Enterprise" is in this film.

Now that we know Pike is involved, the presence of the 1701 seems inevitable... but who's to say that the 1701 makes anything more than a brief cameo and that "the Enterprise" that sees the most screen time isn't the 1701-E?

Okay, it's a stretch, but it's not DEFINITELY not the case, from what we know so far, now, is it? :D

I sort of wish this was the rumored plot of the movie but science fiction is something we are NOT going to get except some contrived derivative plot device. I still think Enterprise is stuck inside V'ger and never came out. It only thought it did. the cloud was actually a cloud of greed.

Can't wait for that crow you'll be eating. What do you mean Science Fiction isn't what we'll be getting? Aren't you the one big on allegory and morality plays? News flash those aren't science fiction by any stretch and are supposed to be the most lauded parts of Star Trek.

Myself, wouldn't be so shocked if the Guardian of Forever showed up or even Gary Mitchell... just cause everything that I've read from the writers tells me they do RESPECT Star Trek and even know it.

Much as I like the Jerry Goldsmith theme, I'd rather hear the Alexander Courage music when Enterprise first appears.

Unless the former is used already several times in the film, then the latter would be a good choice.

But without one or the other, I'll be very disappointed.

At least the first few measures anyway, when they unveil the old girl (or new girl, I suppose) and then go on to whatever theme fits the scene--action or admiring fly-by...
Even Goldsmith's theme basically began with the same intro.

Use the Courage theme for the Captain's Log. That's how it was alluded to in TMP. For the most part, though, I want Giacchino to give us a new score - but the odd musical quotation at a moment of tear-jerking nmostalgic glory can't hurt. ;)

That's just crazy talk!

:D

lol..I wouldn't mind it starting on the Enterprise E or the Titan. Then when Spock goes back in time, he goes to when she launched and she is in space dock..Prob won't happen, but you never know what they will pull outta the hat

As a ship of peace the Enterprise should debut simply on patrol in orbit of somewhere looking to come pick up it's new cadets. Then a quick shot of the Bridge with Captain Pike standing by his command chair. They would do teh right thing if they tilted the camera so we ca nsee in through the top of the ship like in the beginning moments of the Cage/Menagerie.
