How powerful ''IS'' the NARADA?

My second ''thread'' Hope it does better then my first. My question is. How powerful is the NARADA? From what's been leaked from ''Press screenings'' and such, the Narada wips out an ''ENTIRE'' Klingon fleet,(47 Battlecrusiers we have been told) The KELVIN rams right in to the Narada, And on top of all that! Wipes out a Starfleet defence force & possibly a Vulcan defence force! From all this I get the feeling this ship has ''SOME'' Firepower!. So what do you guys think?

Honestly I hope in future movies they do away with the "SuperShip" concept. Part of what made Nemesis so unbelievable was that the Scimitar could take a hundred photon torpedos and keep on coming.

That's why TWOK worked so well, because both ships were so evenly matched that you really had no idea what was going to happen.

Since it seems like a planet-killer, I'm thinking that it's about like the Doomsday Machine or Death Star: a very powerful (i.e. planet-destroying) but rather clumsy/unmaneuverable vessel that a smaller craft (if commanded/flown properly by a starship captain or X-wing pilot) could take out.

That is, another example of the human mythos that inspired David vs. Goliath, but in space (and with major-cool "pew pew" action ).

But, maybe we could be surprised...?

I soooo hope that the Nerada has Borg technology... looking at the design of the ship and the internal bridge shots it's easy to make a connection... especially if rumours about issue 3 of Countdown are true.

An assimilated or Borg influenced Romulan Planet killer, taken for a spin by Nero on a mission of revenge sounds great to me!

I know people will complain about the Borg, but so what - it's not the Borg that people are sick of, it's the way that they were written. People need to differentiate between bad handling of good concepts, and plain bad concepts.

Its very powerful by *any* standard the ST Universe is accustomed to. What looks "odd" is the vast length of the drill.

It looks fascinating, but it also looks bizarrely inefficient - not that it bothers me. I *love* the recoil on the firing of the weapon in the trailer.

The same thign can be said about a lot of design changes in the new movie in regards to Federation tech.

The Borg are a mixture of organic and technological components. I can easily see the Borg having mechanical tentacles. Giant assimilation tubules?
