I'm still feeling positive about it with less than two hours to go until the premiere. I haven't been this excited about Trek in at least eight years and possibly even longer. Yes, there's a chance that the new show will be disappointing but those are the risks with any new series in any franchise and I've been disappointed and even bored by new Trek only to have my opinion completely reversed and then some, my love for that particular series growing exponentially with each new season. We're about to get the first new episode of a weekly Star Trek series in more than 12 years. That's something.

I'm excited. The wait is finally over.

And see, that is more important than anything else. We can debate and disagree, but in the end we all just want more Trek. I hope you like the show and get some joy out of it, I really do.

Sorry you've been through a bad patch - I hope things get better. And I hope you can escape for an hour to the stars.

Thank you both for the kind words. And yes, I enjoyed Discovery immensely, and it did what I needed it to do, take my mind off the crap I'm dealing with for a couple of hours. Definitely looking forward to more.
