How old is too old to have a baby?

I wouldn't make this a law, but it would be nice if the aged prospective parent considered the impact on a very young child of having GrandMommy or GrandDaddy be there one day and be in heaven the next.

Grandparents?

I can understand the responsibility a parent has to be there for their children themselves, but I don't think the age of grandparents should factor into it at all.

It's an individual decision. No one ever asks though, if a *man* is too old to father children or whether they should, because men don't have the biological shut-off like the women do.
Charlie Chaplin had kids when he was 73. But he was too old to pick them up!

I hope he at least learned to speak by then, and no longer had to communicate with them by writing on cards.

People are living longer and staying healthier for longer. Medical technology is improving all the time. Women having babies in their 50s is here to stay. They are almost always wealthy and the child will be raised to be well educated and well loved. What's the problem?
