How old have your cats lived?

I have read that an average lifespan of a cat is 13-15, a little less for outdoors (OK a lot) and a little more for indoors. One site said a cat could max at 25-35, which I think is a joke. That would be like 160 cat years!

So how old have your cats lived to? Mine is 18 (indoor/outdoor cat), and I have a bad feeling about her.

If they are really old (like over 20) and still alive please vote.

I had an indoor female cat who lived to 16 years and died of renal failure.

My oldest living cat is an indoor male cat who is 11 years and in good health.

My oldest so far lived to be 19, but I have now a 17-year-old and two 16-year-olds, all in great shape.

Mine lived to around ten (not sure because we took her when she was probably a couple years old), but she was outdoors-y and died for mysterious reason (found her one morning near the road, so probably it was a car). I don't regret letting her roam freely outside ("a cat is an idea of freedom made flesh"), but damn, I still miss her.

We had a cat named Hephzibah... a fairly standard short-haired tortoise-shell... who was just shy of 22 years old when she passed. She just kept going.

Our first cat died at only 13 from cancer. The vet said 15 or so would've been good for a male like him.
Our second cat died at 18 from cancer. It came over her all at once. The vet said she was among the oldest two percent or so of cats they'd had.

Female cats are supposed to outlive male cats, on average.

I had a friend whose female cat lived 24 good years. But that's unusual, they say. You get over 18 years, and you're on borrowed time.

My mother's cat, a tortoise shell manx with a really nasty disposition, lived to about 21. She was an indoor/outdoor cat. I think she was just too ornery to die.

Did I mention she was really mean?

First kitty had seizures and went deaf around 15 and died at 17. Second kitty had a broken heart and died 8 days later at 14. :(

Current kitty is happy, healthy and going on 6-ish (he was adopted...we don't know his exact age).

Miss Chicken is just over 10 years old. Miss Chicken's mother, Bam Bam, disappeared and she had been the first cat I had owned for about 20 years.

The cat I had before Bam Bam lived to 11 before she had to be put to sleep because she had cancer.

I was reading Cat Fancy in the doctors office the other day, and it had all kinds of old cats. The oldest cat they had lived to be 39, but there was plenty of cats in their 20's. They attribute old age to healthy diet and excercise, and being an indoor cat as outdoor cats have a rougher lifestyle.

Blackjack is a running fool (when he isn't sleeping). He eats and evacuates well...I believe he'll be with us a long time. Quite possibly longer than myself (not in the best health).

My kitties are nearly 14, and in general good health. Eddie is very active, but Kira is starting to show her age a bit.

My previous cat, Rocky, was nearly 16 when she died. She could have lived longer...if my dad hadn't hit her with his car! :(
