37. People still think I'm 25.

I get mistaken for a teenager a lot (I'm 26). I look younger and have a girlish voice on top of things. However, I work with a teacher who is 28, is rather short, and looks so young that she was mistaken for a student in the middle school where she works!37. People still think I'm 25.
I will turn 39 in a couple of months. Strangely enough, I'm not that upset about it. I know I probably should be - I mean, I'm pushing 40 here, who wouldn't be a bit skittish? But I'm OK with it. Hey, at least I have my health, can't complain!
People think I'm even older though, because of my bald head, and my ridiculous sounding voice (I sound like a 45-rpm single played at 33).

girls' voices break?!
They certainly do "break". Just not as dramatically as boys, but there is a noticeable difference. It's all to do with the larynx increasing in size.

Of course my voice has deepened a bit since I was a child, I just sound very young. My mother's the same way. She blew a tire once and when she called AAA they told her to put her mother on the phone. When she told them she was 48 they didn't believer her!

Good thing she didn't have to call 911.
