How not to write a Stargate movie

I'm fed up with the SG-1 franchise, can't stand watching it any more, hoping it'll go back to being good. Just seen Continuum for the first time. FFS. I can't believe it but it's actually WORSE than Ark of Truth (IMO).

What is it with these braindead producers? Do they honestly think that long, drawn out walks along massive landscapes constitutes anything particularly good, clever or original? No. Boring.

Daniel saying "Oh shit" out of the blue. What was the point, how immature can these writers be?

What's with the mindless and needless gore? Did they really have to chop off the top of Apophis' head? Did they really have to shoot Ba'al in the top of the head? Did they really have to slice Ba'al in half and have him fall into a pool of blood? Again, how immature can these writers be??

O'Neill was once again, the walking joke he was in seasons 7 to 10. Where every word out of his mouth is a sarcastic, piss take, except it seems to be getting more and more annoying the more he's in the show.

I'm fed up of 'explain to these people what SG-1 is, what the Stargate is, who the Goa'uld are. Enough already. How SLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW were those scenes half way through the film? On the boat, on the ice, took forever just to get a few sentences out.

The entire middle 30 minutes or so. BOOOOOORRRRRRINNNNNGGG... Seriously, at NO time during 10 years was an episode EVER as boring and dull as the middle third of Continuum.

Added to the pointless "kewl" armada of ships that served no purpose but to give the writers wank fantasies... - the ridiculously gay tank top that Ba'al had to wear on his ship... are we REALLY supposed to take this dull waste of space seriously? I miss the likes of Apophis, Anubis, Heru'ur etc...

The time travel chamber was cool, but the endless shooting was exactly the same as what we've been watching for years. The slow-motion main characters getting shot... again, rehashed, old, tired, stupid.

Daniel telling off the president: the perfect way of making Daniel even more annoying than he was in the last 3 years.

Awful. Pure garbage. When will they let this once outstanding franchise DIE already.

I thought Ark of Truth wasn't even as good as some regular SG-1 episodes, but Continuum was much better than AoT. The thing I didn't like was remembering that Cam was still a part of SG-1. I saw him and I was like "Oh, yeah. I guess he's still with the team." The downer for me with Continuum was the time paradox. It just seemed like a big waste of....well, time. No real purpose. At the end we're back where we were. Great.

The point is there was nothing like that on the show, so why bother including it now, just to be "kewl" and "shocking"?

That's a common fault with these moron writers, they write hugely involved storylines with impossible odds, extremely powerful god-like enemies... and then have no way of having the team win at the end of the day, other than by yet another "hunt for the all power Ancient weapon" or a standard reset button.

You honestly didn't find the entire middle half boring as hell? From the moment they leave the sinking ship to the moment the Alkesh attacks was the biggest snoozefest in the history of Stargate.

I was at the end of my patience when the Gould ship FINALLY appeared in the sky.

I admit SG and SGA has it's problems but if you hate the show that much why oh why to you waste your time watching it.
I for one hate x factor and come dancing but instead of moaning about them i just find something ells to do/watch why don't you do the same i think in the long run you will be a lot happier.

Meh. I liked Continuum. It had its problems (when hasn't the franchise lately), but outside of the completely illogical way that the time travel was handled (people disappeared from the time-line at the speed of plot, with no explanation given) it was a lot of fun. Even Mitchell was used properly. It could have had a stronger ending, and Jack wasn't very interesting until he stopped being OUR Jack and became AU Jack, but it was fun, had action, and for a brainless piece of entertainment, it delivered.

Indeed, I'd give the review an "F" it's highly repetitve and the middle part is BOR-RING and you could see the ending coming since it's always the same old thing over and over again.

At least AoT had a storyline, was exciting and generally flowed ok. Continuum was just a dull, alternate reality wankfest... with kewl spaceships that did nothing, boring characters/scenes and a general waste of time with a big reset button at the end. Pointless.

Am sorry but that means you hate it for 4 years and I don't know about the rest of you but if a show got bad I would probably stop watching long before 4 years.

Apart from season 1, your comments about SG-A don't reflect that you enjoy it for the most part.

Repetitive

Just watched Atlantis Season 5 episode "Broken Ties".

Is anyone else getting sick and tired of the EXACT SAME Wraith base/ship infiltration storyline? It feels like I've watched the same episode 20 times.

Awful episode. Luckily the next one is fantastic.
