The DVD, maybe some other stuff. We'll see.

The one thing I'm hoping they come up with is a functional tie-in cell phone that looks like TOS communicator. One that preferably pops open when a switch is depressed, like ENT's.
Dammit, Jim! I'm a doctor not a miracle worker! :guffaw:

I don't know if I'll buy anything past the DVD.

The only Star Trek related merchandise I ever got into was the Hallmark ornaments...and even those I didn't use on my actual Christmas tree, except for the Sisko one.

The rest are all still in the boxes, where no doubt they are decreasing in value daily.

The DVD and probably the novelization. I doubt there will be much else.

I'm sure there will be a card set of the movie with autograph cards and cards with costume pieces on them also lame ass sketch cards that aren't worth anything.

I'll buy the DVD when it comes out and if there is a console game I'd consider that as well if it looks half decent. Other than that, the only thing I might buy is the novelisation if it comes out a significant time before the movie and I completely surrender to being spoiled.

No way would they put out the novelization before the movie. J.J. Abrams would have a conniption fit if they did that!

I do believe I read the novelization of TMP a good 4 days or so before the movie premiered. ;)

I have heard of that happening for other movies, but no way is it going to happen for this one. ;)

I'll just get the DVD, the novelization and the soundtrack CD. And if there's an official magazine for the flick I'll pick it up too.

If model kits are released, you can put me down for a few of those. Possibly a few prop replicas (phaser, communicator, etc.) if they are done well and not too pricey... DVD is a given; wide screen, of course...

Q2

I will probably get a good amount. I collect star ships, action figures, and prop replicas. I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of my spending money next year goes to Trek XI collectibles.

I will probably get the DVD, the odd prop style toy, and probably all of the four inch scaled figures and playsets. I probably will not get any Trek themed t-shirts, buttons, glasses, collectible plates, underoos, shower curtains, toothbrushes, condoms, novelizations, personal massagers, photobooks, busts, phaser-themed remote controls, home pregnancy tests, postal stamps, running shoes, PC shells, laptop shells, socks, sleeping bags, colostomy bags, frisbees, sodas coming in collectible cans or bottles, happy meals, sad meals, realistic outlook on life meals, mood rings, automated battery operated candy, or PVCs.

However, when Halloween rolls around, I will definately going looking for new Captain Kirk shirts. Just to wear around the house.

The DVD and any models that come out. I recently started rebuying the models I made as a kid- and they all cost 5 to 6 times as much as they used to mostly because they aren't manufactured anymore and are being traded around on e-bay for whatever the seller asks.

The DVD when its £5 or less.
(If I dont see it at the cinema, perhaps for more when its just released)

Where's my Communicator cell phone, dammit!! If they come out with one of those, I'll get one for me and one for my son.

Heh...the other day I stumbled across an AMT TOS Enterprise kit I forgot I bought quite some time back, still in plastic wrap (though the box is a bit dented from a move a number of years ago...I doubt there's any damage inside).

I'm tempted to open it up and put it together and paint it...and also tempted to just let it sit. Very torn. :)

For sure the movie ticket, the DVD and the soundtrack if it is good. If Art Asylum or Playmates or whoever makes a good replica of the new Enterprise then I may get that too.
