How much should Chuck get paid?

Guy Gardener

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Enough is enough!

Doing your bit for god and country is one thing, even if it means t he blonde bends over in front on a regular basis, but the CIA and the NSA are involved in a slave labour scam. Chuck is their slave. Even if they began pay him suddenly right now, the slavery thing is more than still arguable, but a little remuneration would be more than fair to guild the cage they're keeping him in because an honest days work deserves an honest days pay...

Wage or Salary?

Overtime or/and Bonuses?

Flipping the coin is Sarah paid extra by the government to work fastfood since her cover is a job worthy of minimum wage, and what on earth would Casey do with his Buy More Money and would he have to be taxed on it since it isn't a real job and he probably isn't using his real identity?

The IRS is going to bust his ass.

Chuck should definitely be getting some kind of compensation.

They did give him his college diploma...of course, he can't do anything with it as long as he's the Intersect.

Reasonable he should get paid what an operative got paid in addition to his pay at the Buy More. Now obviously they wouldn't want any operative to be living a life style that far exceeds their means, but I would think he wouldn't have to worry about food on the table and a generous retirement package (which he would never see as they would kill him,but still he should be thinking he has this coming in), exceptional health care coverage.

So apart from getting slotted in the shower, I suspect Chucks alternative retirement package sounds a little like this...

"Where am I?"

"In the Village."

"What do you want?"

"Information."

"Whose side are you on?"

"That would be telling…. We want information. Information! INFORMATION!"

"You won't get it."

"By hook or by crook, we will."

"Who are you?"

"The new Number Two."

"Who is Number One?"

"You are Number Six."

"I am not a number — I am a Free Man!"

(Laughter from Number Two.)

I assume he is being paid what another agent would be getting paid
And the buymore money would likely be his to keep as well, but Casey's buymore money is likely kept by uncle sam

He gets to hang out with Sarah all the time... and she is always walking around in slow motion.

He should be paying them.

Considering some of the wages that the Government pays (I've analyzed the pay scales) he should be happy with whatever they decide to give him.

It would appear that they have decided to give him nothing.

Which is roughly the same wage as a high school teacher.

I'm betting he IS getting paid. He just doesn't know it and will get it after he's no longer the Intersect (provided he's allowed to live, that is).

Elle "wins" a lottery the day after Casey puts a bullet between Chucks eyes?

I loved it in Buffy when she was holding a sword to that watchers throat and said that Giles must be reinsated with full pay and then Giles clears his throat coughing out the words "retroactive backpay from the point of termination".

Maybe he's seen that Oliver Twist movie one time too many?

"Please sir, can I have some more?"

"MOOOOOOOORE?"

Ned on Pushing Daises explained it in 12 seconds better than Alf or Clark did from shy a decade of continuous programming...

"It starts with hugs and smiles and presents and then ends with me being locked up in a room and they cut away little bits of me until there's no bits of me left."

The only way Chuck could even be a little bit safe is to get a lawyer, Johnny Cochrane is dead right?, And sue the shit out of the CIA until they don't have the funding left to send three agents on a fishing weekend.

The CIA is not even allowed to operate on US Soil. Every Breath Sarah takes in the service of the CIA is illegal and a violation of their own charter... I wonder how damn sure Sarah is that she isn't being Aliased? You saw how ridiculously they recruited her when she was still a child with a shady criminal background?

I'd have to say that Chuck is getting paid by the government just from the small bits the show uses. Like how he isn't worried about punching his Buy More time clock. Or renting a Ferrari a few episodes back to impress Jill. The fact that he doesn't seem worried about money indicates he feels comfortable with what he is making. Otherwise, he'd be complaining this intersect business is stopping him from working an extra shift at the Buy More to make a few extra bucks or something along those lines.

You have totally noticed how incompetent and disinterested Chuck's superiors are?

It's not like he works at the work bench where you have to scheme to skive.

Although, if he won? They might have let him keep the surplus?

I think Dale Cooper said he gave his black jack winnings back to the FBI in Twin Peaks.
