Spoilers How much has Star Trek: Discovery influenced Star Trek: Picard?

Yeah it was weird to realise the scene where Elnor arrives in the fascistverse in season two is District 6 with the lights on.

The production aesthetic of Picard's third season was the same as the second. Indeed, aside from that particular ship featured in the finale, all the sets seen in the third season were built and used in the second.

Perhaps it's an issue of how much the third season focused on the starships instead of giving glimpses of them that worked for me. They stayed with the starships, further I was fine more with the focus on 24th century clothing, etc. than going back in time. We didn't get as much of that in the second season.

- New character with deep and never before mentioned ties to legacy characters - check

Such a precedent in PIC was set in S1 (Elnor)

- Drawn-out mystery box - check

That's standard serialized Star Trek now. See PIC S1 & S2.

- Starfleet/galaxy-threatening event - check

Only done once in PIC vs every season in DIS.

- Disaster averted through the power of emotion - check

Even the Dominion War ended that way. But unlike DIS, DS9 and PIC did not over use the power of emotion. DIS is power of emotion spam.

- Recurring bridge characters with little characterisation or development - check

Again, only done once in PIC vs every season in DIS.

- Small-universe syndrome - check

Which, in PIC, was a response to the disliked big universe approach in S1.
