How much does your hair cost?

I go to a very exclusive salon, which is very reasonably priced at $0.00. It's also very conveniently located in my bathroom.

Okay, you guys are making me feel high maintinence. I go for a cut and color about every 2 months. I spend about $100.

The last time I tried to go cheap and just do Great Clips, I left with two unconnected layers and wound up looking like an idiot. So now I pay to have someone who knows what he's doing do my hair. I've never gotten as many compliments on my hair as I have since Ross took over. :adore:

The last time I paid for a haircut was...uh, probably 2 years ago or more? Then I had a roommate who was a stylist and she would just cut it for free in our house. I would usually buy her a pitcher of beer in payment, which goes for about $6 at our usual bar. She doesn't live with me anymore, but she visits a lot and always brings her shears and equipment.

As for shampoo/conditioner, my mom knows what brand I use and is crazy, so if she ever sees it on sale, she buys like four bottles and brings them over to me. I don't remember the last time I paid for shampoo.

My mother is a hairdresser and has been cutting my hair on a regular basis since I was twelve. (Before then I wouldn't let her. I was trying to be independent! :rommie:) She also did it for free. But I live eight hours away now so I have been getting someone else to cut it and having to pay for it.

For me a haircut is $20 + tip ever three weeks. But since I am going grey in a weird patchy kind of way I have it colored every two months or so. If I don't I look like a patchwork quilt. That costs $40. But I found this woman who does a fantastic job and is really an artist. She gives one of the cleanest cuts I have ever seen, even better than mom. Her color technique is top notch too. She always applies three or four shades by hand with a paint brush and you can't even tell I have had anything done. It is well worth the money!

I'm graying in a similar way. It maybe vanity, but it really does bother me, I'm only 27 (28 next month) and not ready to have so much gray. I haven't dyed it yet because I was so hung up on it feeling like, as a guy I shouldn't or something. But I've decided that's utterly ridiculous and I should do as I like. So after I get my hair cut this week I'm going to try it out and see if I can pull it off.

$0. I shave my head. I grew it out for a whole year recently, trying to get it long, but I just got sick of it and shaved it all off again. No more brushing and shampooing and worrying about the wind!

^ I have been greying since I was fifteen JW. But mine is grey in dense patches all over my head so it is very very noticible. If I just let it go I would look like I had cheetah spots. However, in the last year, the spots on the top of my head are merging into two twin strips. Now I look like a mutant cheetah-skunk. I have no choice but to partake of a little help from Miss Clairol. Normally I wouldn't care about this kind of thing but I don't think people would take me seriously otherwise. There is a very good chance that folks would assume I had done it on purpose since if doesn't look natural.

Now you've got me curious.

For me it only costs as much as shaving gel and razor cartridges at Costco. I shave my whole head in the shower every morning. Strangely enough, I almost never get seriously cut, even though I can't see the back of my head and my shaving mirror always fogs way the hell up. :p

I haven't had a haircut since Christmas 2007. Yes, my hair is insanely long. But it's free!

Hairdressers.

Customers

I used to be a hairstylist. Some are good. Some are bad.

My haircut costs my $50 including shampoo, conditioner, and a style afterwards, taxes and tip. I go to the same hairstylist every time and she does a great job :techman:

Mind you, I only get haircuts twice a year
i splurge once a year and get a really good cut.
then i do a little trimming in between.

i also tip very well if it is a really good cut and they were gentle with my scalp.

I just moved into my apartment a few months ago, and I found a barbershop in the plaza next door that suits my purposes fine -- I don't need anything fancy, just a little off the top, the sideburns, and the back, and I'll style it myself if necessary. It costs $15 (plus I give a tip), and I go every month and a half or so.

Hmmm... come to think of it, I feel like I'm due for another cut. I think I'll go this week.

Nothing. I've never been to a barber in my life (at least as far back as I can remember). My mom has always cut my hair.

I don't get haircuts.

But when I do, I do it myself with an electric shaver until it's close enough to shave off with a straight razor.

Then I just let it grow for the next six months or so and repeat the cycle.

I pay 290 kr (about 30 euros) for my haircut which I do about every 3 months or so..
I color my hair at home. Actually will do it tonight.
