Depending on the size of the piece of gum, anywhere from 1 to 2 pieces. If it's Trident, definitely two pieces.

Trident, Orbit, Dentyne, All flavor of Wrigley: one piece


Double bubble, Bubblelicious, the cheapy kind that comes 2,000 to a bag and it's given out on Halloween, Bubble Tape, generic kind that comes in candy pieces: Anywhere from 1 to 10 pieces. I call this variety the "10 second gum" because the flavor lasts approximately 10 seconds if that long.
