How long does it take for new releases to be released for Kindle?

Hi,

Recently just purchased an Amazon Kindle and was wondering how long it takes for new releases to be released for kindle? I see a number of recent titles are out. For June, Dawn of Eagles is out but These Haunted Seas isn't... anyone know what's up? How long does it usually take for a kindle edition to come out usually?

In the past, I've seen them come out on the same day that Amazon has them listed as the "release date", other times its been a week or two afterwards. I believe it all just depends on the publisher of the book and if/when they decide to release a Kindle edition. I'm hoping that buy Christmas time this year, Amazon will have really made a push to increase the size of their library, as its always disheartening to spend that kind of money on a device, and then not be able to find a particular book in the middle of a series, or all but one or two of a particular author's works.

Some of the authors and editors on this board may have a bit more insight into the process though. Personally, I'd like to see them made available on the Kindle as soon as the paper book is available on Amazon.com, otherwise, I tend to just go ahead and buy the paper book if its a title I've been anticipating and its not yet available on Kindle (Fearful Symmetry comes to mind.)

Just buy the Mission Gamma's all separately on the Kindle. It's pretty much going to be the same price.

True enough. There is no new material in the new omnibus, and you won't have to wait for the next omnibus.

Thanks for the advice. I actually couldn't find the mission gamma books on kindle because of the a few things:

1) they're not listed under star trek: deep space nine when you search for them. they're just mission gamma
2) I searched for david george III and only got one book (and it wasn't twilight)
3) When i did finally just type in Mission Gamma, Twilight comes up...with the author KRAD.

Someone needs to fix a few things on amazon's search engine.

Too funny. I was just coming here to ask a similar question. After recently buying my Kindle, I've been getting caught up on the last few months of Trek books, and wanted to start reading Fearful Symmetry, only to find it's not in the Kindle Store yet.

So instead, I've been indulging in picking up some old KRAD and PAD favorites, to replace my bound copies. Q-Squared and Articles of the Federation were the first two purchases for my Kindle library, before I even had the unit in hand.

Here's another Kindle-y question. How long until an old release comes to the Kindle? I want to start adding in the New Frontier books to my Kindle Library, only to find that Book 5 (Martyr) doesn't have a Kindle version. In fact, it looks like the entire New Frontier library is in the Kindle Store, except for Martyr!
