How is your colon?

In this, as in most things, I'm just a regular guy.

But I must say--the older I get, the greater the regret, when I didn't eat right yesterday.

As the saying goes: paybacks are a bitch. :scream:

My friends and I were also up late the other night watching an infomercial for "Dual Action Cleanse," which supposedly cleans out the leftover bile and fecal matter that's stuck in your system. It said we can be carrying up to 20 lbs of extra waste in our systems because we eat so much processed food.

It's probably an urban legend, and therefore a lie. Linky

I suggest simply changing your diet to lots of veggies and whole grains. That will probably work better than some overpriced yoghurts and other "miracle" solutions.

B vitamins can help move your digestion along. And if you've had a bout of heavy drinking - it can deplete those. More fibre and B complex, and you should be regular as a Swiss clock.

I just had to look. Metamucil is nasty stuff. My mother used to take it. The only way I can tolerate it is to put it in juice. Lately, however, I've been eating lots of green salads and I am okay in the colon department. When I feel like I need a little help, I take Correctol. Works for me!

The best advice I can give is if you really think you have a problem, see your doctor. I'd do that before buying something based on an infomercial, no matter how good it sounds. Good luck.

Really I don't find Metamucil all that bad. Compared to Kon-Syl it is a real treat. Kon-Syl is like pouring wheat germ into water and then having to drink it. Worse, the longer it sits it kind of congeals into a more gel like consistency so after a while it is kind of like your drinking splooge(that's semen for you biology majors) After that a nice Orangey drink like Metamucil was a welcome change.

Yeah, that's mostly what I'm doing now. Aside from the Benefiber that I bought, I'm just making a bigger effort to eat more natural fiber. I've always been so concerned with proteins and carbs that I overlooked fiber!

It doesn't help that I don't eat salad. I really don't like lettuce, so that's probably a big reason why other people have less of a problem.

I just...I ever feel like I've got it all out! So I sit...and I wait...and I hope that when I squeeze I will know that it's the end. It just always feels like there's more in there!
That sounds like the Second Thoughts Poo
I have experienced all of those.

Except the "Morning After Poo" I usually refer to as "Jagerbomb Poo," and it happens at least 6 times within the first 3-4 hours of being awake.

^ Why not just eat a lot of foods with fiber in it? Bran muffins, fiber cereal, etc. Isn't that better than taking some pill (which happens way too often nowadays)?

Fiber is fiber. It's not bad for you if it comes in pill form, and some people just have a hard time eating the right amount from food alone. That's why supplements exist in the first place.

You should eat about 25 grams of fiber a day. Most Americans eat less than 10 grams.

No, actually, I think supplements exist mainly because people are so gullible that they think taking a magic pill is gonna make them feel instantly better. A lie forced upon us by the drug companies.

I think you don't know what supplements are.

^ Well, okay, the occasional multivitamin couldn't hurt. But remember, I work in a supermarket, and I've seen the kind of useless crap that infests the pharmacy aisles. 99% of that stuff is unnecessary. (As for cosmetics? More like 100%)

It's a fiber tablet. It's made of fiber. You're incorrect about it being a magic pill of some sort, it's just a supplement.
