How is New Orleans in DS9 When it Was Destroyed?

Sad to say that there are some in New Orleans who would think this desirable. All those damned old buildings are so inconvenient for the tourists.
Well it's already been answered, It was rebuild. Do we really need to say anymore? And yes whilst New Orleans suffered damage because of Hurrican Katrina it wasn't destroyed, damaged yes. If you want an example of a destroyed or virtually destroyed city how about Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Even if New Orleans was "destroyed" by a hurricane caused by time traveling Eugenics, even if it was destroyed in WW3 by a nuke... I submit for consideration Hiroshima. Nuked in 1945... here's a picture of the ruins today.

Well, to be fair, at least Hiroshima and Nagasaki had the benefit of an already existing society to help them rebuild. They were only two isolated cities destroyed - they could receive assistance from the outside.
Trek's WW III was evidently not an all-consuming "total" nuclear war - if it had been, it would have wiped out all life on Earth, or at the very least there could not possibly have been any infrastructure left to rebuild anything.
So in the Trek universe, WW III must have been a relatively 'limited' war. (In ST:FC Riker even says that there were "very few" governments left. Not NONE left; very few. Therefore, there were some. Also, from TNG's "The Royale" we see a US flag that dates somewhere from 2033 to 2079. WW III happened in 2053, so therefore, the US survived the war.) Especially since society is back to normal in only a hundred years afterward. Of course, I'm sure the Vulcans helped in the reconstruction...

Actually, this person isn't trolling but very serious when asking these questions (I've encountered this person at another Trek site before).

Still there? I grew up in Reserve, went to ESJ, moved into a little house on Constance St. when I left home and eventually I somehow wound up in southern Indiana.
