How is Janeway sexy?

HEE HEE

I was going to make it have confetti and dancing, but I sort of like your idea better. See, I was thinking more a "banner graphic" that would serve as a jolly warning that the user was entering a Tuvix Thread rather than something that serves as an argument.

But... but now... hmmmmmm

We're ridiculously defensive. Whether or not that's purely reactionary at this point is up in the air.

Prior to ENT, VOY was the black sheep of Trekdom. (Now it's more the dark gray sheep.) Janeway is the brash, stubborn older lady riding on said dark gray sheep with a fancy saddle, so she's a pretty easy target.

^ There's quite a bit of that, too. :guffaw:

Others aren't fond of her writing, which (outside of a few things) I quite disagree with, personally, but I can see the argument.

The question is that if some people who say that really mean the writing or something else. Hard to say until you talk it out.

I was guessing that's what it was.

I did see a little of that back in the pages. Mostly from Honey, but she's pretty defensive/reactionary/passionate herself.

That makes sense though.

I agree that there are certain things in Janeway's writing that bother me. Tuvix is a great example. I mean, really? Janeway never even had a choice in that episode, because it was about two of the series regulars. The writers painted the character into a corner. As I've said before, that episode would have been a million times better if it had been Crewman Smith and Ensign Jones who became Smones. THEN it would be fair to judge Janeway, as a character, on her choice, because only then would she have HAD one.

But, yep. There are quite a few people who just hate Janeway and are afraid to admit why, so they look for plot points to justify opinions that are based on personal feelings.

And now I'm going to go read some fluffy fanfic to wash the irritation out of my brain.

I forgot we're actually of different minds on Tuvix! It's a good point, though. It's a little like what happened with "Caretaker," actually. And you're so very very right. Smart Girls can be scary to some people.

You realize I read "Smones" as "S'mores" though. Coupled with "fluffy fanfic," all I can think of is delicious s'mores with fluffy marshmallows...

EDIT:

Smart Girls!

I was completely with Janeway on Tuvix. She was a total BAMF when she walked into sickbay and did it herself.

I am two episodes from Year of Hell. I'm looking forward to it because all of the pics of her from those episodes look really hot.

I finished reading through the rest of the thread, and I was wondering if there's any context for this picture:

Is there a video? (Please let there be a video.)

Jadzia, that picture is from a terrible, terrible movie that she did: Round numbers... but so looks so yummy in there!

You can find some clips in Youtube:

Let us know how you liked YoH when you've seen it. It's a big favorite of most everyone here.

And it's the beginning of the Season Four Hair!

 That's a great image.

Just finished watching both parts. Janeway was amazing. She walked through a wall of fire and came out even more beautiful! I love the season 4 hair.

I think I would make a horrible Voyager crew member. The worse the situation got the more distracted I would be. "Captain, you seem to be under an awful lot of stress. Maybe I could help you relieve it?

I agree that it should have been "Smones."

There are a few decisions that the Janeway "dislikers" always pick on, and Tuvix is at the top of the list--along with Equinox, Unimatrix Zero, etc. I sometimes wonder if those are the only episodes of VOY that they've seen, and sometimes I wonder if they've actually seen those episodes or are parroting complaints they've read elsewhere.

Amen, AuntKate!!!

On a lighter note:

I thought I'd share this with y'all. A friend of mine made it for my birthday. She knows I have a fondness for feather boas.

Admiral Janeway, twice as sexy with bright pink feathers.
