I recall a con video on YouTube where someone asked KM who would win in a fight between Janeway and Kirk - her answer was that Janeway would seduce Kirk, and while his guard was down, she'd shoot him in the face.

Okay. I'm trying to think what I could possibly offer for that link.. if anyone can follow their trail of interests back to find it.

I MUST HAVE IT.

But, yeah. I figure a Janeway/Kirk child would either be an insanely awesome Starfleet legend, OR he/she would turn against the organization altogether and crush the whole galaxy under his or her boot. It would indeed be an epic 'ship!

Yeah I was thinking Maquis leader at first but truly I think their child gone bad will be so much bigger than that.

And if she's a she.. so much the better!

I had hopes of a Janeway, initially hidebound in Federation/Starfleet protocol who comes to question those assumptions and remakes her ship into something closer to TOS as Voyager's life would be far more similar to Kirk's Enterprise- a ship alone beyond the boarders of the Federation.

In some ways, her character did go that direction. Janeway was a bit closer to the Picard side of the scale in the really early part of the show and flew over to the Kirk side by the end.

And yet everyone freaks over it.. Bad Janeway! Not allowed to do that Kirk stuff!

Indeed, because I found it all the more so looking at how the characters had developed in the course of their respective series. I found it far more out of character for Archer's than Janeway. I understood the dramatic tensions for both, but I'd be more likely to call psycho on Archer for suddenly taking 'when diplomacy fails the alternative is violence' approach. Archer never seemed to possess the darker character flaws that Janeway and Kirk (Obsession, anyone?) had.

Kirk was exploring the alpha quadrant when much of it was still uncharted and it took forever to get hold of Starfleet. By the time he heard back from the stuffy ol' brass it was like "ooops, already made a judgment call; don't like it, tough shit."

Best description of Kirk I ever done read. But, yeah. Gotta do what has to be done! And it took a year or so for Janeway to figure that out, probably thanks to the Maquis on board. I liked that bit in "Alliances" when Chakotay told her to loosen up a bit - wonder if he regretted those words come "Scorpion." :P Or, like, any time she covered herself with guns and ran off somewhere.

It's like WTF does The Hangover II have to do with X-Men, Thor I can get because he's part of the same Universe but still. And he's basically already bought out tickets to Green Lantern, I HATE Green Lantern(actually I like Green Lantern when he's black not white). And Green Lantern is only ever good when he's with the Justice League!

I am so furious at him right now. I mean I get that I didn't dress up as Jean Grey when I went to The Last Stand, but that's because I had played oblivious and didn't know that she was alive, and I was pregnant but that's the pregnancy I don't talk about much at all. But I dressed up as her for X2 and he's seen the picture of it! Would it be bad to pull the sympathy card right now?

When ST:XI came out mr. teacake was utterly resigned to my constantly going to the movies. And a movie ticket is 17.00 here. I was like.. this is mah PILGRIMAGE. Do NOT stand in the WAY.

They are actually not showing Xmen at my local cinema

It's not on their coming attractions either. So this means I have to out on the train at night in the freezing winter so I'm waiting for someone to go with. I hear it is great!!!!!!!!!
