I'm up to the end of season four in my rewatch, and I'm just not seeing it.

Help me out, Janeway lovers. What do you see in her?

She's not the least bit sexy. Not even with some very thick beer goggles on. I never disliked the character, and I dont think a woman has to be sexy any more than a man does, at least not to be a good captain. So it wasnt a problem for me.

That's... actually really refreshing to hear, IMO. I disagree on the sexy, of course. But the constant obsession with looks that folks have always drives me batty - kinda nice to see that it doesn't always matter. Real heroes in the real world aren't always pretty. But they're awesome all the same.

I think that being sexy is not just about how good one looks. I think it's an attitude too. It's about the tone of her voice, the way she moves her hands, the power she has being a Starfleet Captain, her swag...

Janeway may not be a super hot top model, but in that aspect, the attitude, Janeway it's sexy, very sexy.

I always loved this movie but I never thought about Ninotchka being the perfect ex-drone, but you couldn't be more right. She is so Seven or vulcan. It's All aloof and efficient but with a sensitive side within her.
