How is Janeway sexy?

OMG I almost forgot.. this morning I dreamed that I was going to a convention to see Kate Mulgrew. I had somehow forgotten my ticket so had to sneak into the convention which was being held in some kind of stadium despite there being not that many people there. After lots of climbing and sneaking I was finally standing IN FRONT OF KATE who was sitting at a table to sign stuff.

She was young Kate, in her 20's, with a Season 4 haircut. I gushed something and she started chatting with me, she touched my hand (!!!) and she was incredibly warm and personable and friendly!! We talked for a bit and then I excused myself so the next person could talk to her and went off to find something to eat.

Oh, if only. IF ONLY. So, we all dream about teacake, and finally teacake has her own dream. ;)

Touched your hand! Season 4 haircut! Your dream-self must be resilient. I may have fallen over.

My dream was about me typing on my laptop, and then three jackasses took the laptop away from me and started typing gibberish while laughing. Then I rode in a turbolift.

Oh no froot! They took your laptop! And then they laughed! What jerks.

I don't think my forum dream counts.

I was just walking in the thread, it was strange. :)

Elegance in overalls is still elegance?

if she was all that, then surely she would have had more suitors trying to woo her?

In the case of Tom she dismissed him "It's more likely that I raped you than that you raped me, but thank you for trying to make me feel pretty."

Now kashak and she were just lying to each other.

Mark was just some one to look after her dog.

That leader guy from Prime Factors? Tried to bed him through his stomach, but she waited too long and it all went to hell.

Then there's the dad from Charmed in workforce who was some sort of hermaphrodite so it's unknown what sort of mating rituals and taboos he practised or the two of them didn't need approval from a doctor before they interlocked genitals... It was a decent relationship but as soon as her real personality surfaced, she pushed him out of the picture.

And of course there was Neelix who didn't feel as if he was worthy enough to mention howscrummy she was in almost every way... But after all that lamb no wonder he had some taste for mutton.

Mulgrew maybe be pretty, but Janeway is just an old lady in overalls who seems absolutely complacent without a man propping her up... Though I could swear she was licking her lips when she asked Amelia to fly away with her.

Voyager was never a sexy show about sex.

Even after Jeri.

i'm sorry but yo say voyager was never about sex even after jeri, i understand that but you have to admit, the moment jeri arrived the show became quite perverted, remember in season 7 with Q's son...

Jeri is pretty hot.

Wouldn't mind her, just would prefer Kate.

If I liked Seven more it could be a bit harder to choose.

But I do like her more than I used to.

Mair, does Tim Russ' iCarly character really say that?! I knew he was on the show, but I had no idea that was one of his lines. LOL

I know the J/7ers have answered this over and over, and I will absolutely admit I see the subtext, and I think there are moments when it was obvious to the extreme ("Voyager Conspiracy," ending of "Dark Frontier"), but the age/experience difference is off-putting to me. I read the occasional J/7, and it just feels like Janeway is taking advantage of Seven. It's a very unbalanced relationship.

Besides my J/C leanings, these are the same reasons I cannot handle C/7.

Seven is an interesting study in contradictions. On the one hand she is totally inexperienced in being Seven, an adult human independent woman. On the other hand she has grown up with the experiences and voices of hundreds of thousands of other sentient beings coursing through her, so she is not in any way a naive child. Her maturing as a Borg is very different than any other humanoid experience and not easily grasped by others.

Yes he does.

He just did a voiceover work for the last episode. And they were having like a night over at the school and he was on the intercom saying that the doors were locked and that was his last line.

This is exactly how I feel. However, I will give it a try since I have run out of J/C stories to read

And I do need a bit of a break in between writing.

That's freaking awesome and cute :). I think iCarly is really funny - it's this generation's Clarissa Explains it All.

I know Seven is hardly a child in the traditional sense, but the show has a very teacher/student or mother/daughter vibe most of the time (episodes I mentioned aside.) They love each other strongly, but I question whether that love is sexual in nature.

However! I could see a J/7 rewrite of "Human Error." Janeway would be a far more realistic choice for Seven than Chakotay - by that point in the series, Janeway had been Seven's knight in shining armor dozens of times, even for all the times they argued. (A D/7 or K/7 re-write could also work... although... can you make a hologram of a hologram? lol) Seven would want to choose the most comfortable person to explore her feelings with, not someone who was very frosty to her most of the time.

I imagine if Janeway found out about the program, though, I don't think she'd react by trying to start a real relationship.

It is. iCarly is so adorable. Who's your favorite character?

And now the gears in my head are moving for a D/7 story.

It isn't gonna happen for me, I finally got a handle on the dragon one.:lol:

And I agree with the Janeway not starting a relationship if she found out. I think she would be put out a little.

I don't think Chakotay would have either.

What I find odd is that people always say 7 was added to the show for sex appeal, to sex it up. But then they say she is too much of a child to have a relationship. If this was really true that would be incredibly creepy.

I'm fine with her having relationships.

I love her with the Doctor, and even Harry sometimes.

But her and Chakotay?

There was no chemistry and that's what hurt it the most.

Plus it just felt forced and over acted.

yeah though as I always say Chakotay is a nice, safe man, just one step up from holo-Chak and I think he will treat her well and be a good practice relationship for her.

She had a great relationship with the Doctor, very well developed and fleshed out. Shame they couldn't do a romance for her that developed but Trek does suck at romance most of the time.
