How is Janeway sexy?

^^ OOPS!

I didn't mean to suggest they had it with each other! :alienblush:

I know :guffaw: It's no secret here that I'm J/T fan so (mis)interpreted that way :) Besides, reason I like them is that I know there's no way they'd do that. One of the great mysteries of VOY for me (as my first Trek series) was: how/why do these two like/admire each other? (But no hint of love/desire).

I prefer to believe there's some love/desire waay deep down in there somewhere ;) J/Tu is a little pet pairing of mine, too. But, you're right. They're both loyal, upstanding people - Janeway'd never betray T'Pol like that, and Tuvok would never let it happen (unless we use a pon farr excuse or Tuvok's family dies, and the last time I mentioned that, I believe we got started on the road to pattern enhancers and Possum having pon farr emergencies...)

Their platonic friendship is awesome as all hell on its own, though. :) There's some hints of how their friendship got started in Pathways (which involves a planet with angry dinosaurs and Janeway generally pissing Tuvok off at every available oppertunity.)

Possum, I believe that is from Camp Nowhere, but I'm not entirely sure. KM plays a crazy theater mom who has a fairly amusing scene near the end of the movie when the kids put on a performance of Annie.

And yes, sparse amounts of sex aside, I'd be okay emulating Season 4!Janeway and Tuvok and their little Kindles!!! Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww. But why do they have so many?!

EDIT: Nice screencaps, you guys! :O

What's Pathways? Fiction? *facepalm* Maybe being repressed Brit, I liked fact J/Tu had 'something' that was beyond 'phwoar '

Pathways is the story Jeri Taylor wrote as a back story on Chakotay, B'Elanna, Tuvok, and I want to say Tom, and I think maybe Harry.

EDIT: froot's right Possum. That screencap is from Camp Nowhere.

LOL

"Reasons Janeway is a Sexy BAMF" must be what this thread will become in 300 years.:lol:

Yes, Pathways is one of the Jeri Taylor novels. It got ignored in canon somewhat after she left, but the stuff where Janeway and Tuvok meet stays fairly intact (it's even referenced when he gets promoted in Season 4, although they leave out the part with the dinosaurs.)

Best freeeennnzzz :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

EDIT: Has anyone noticed Tuvok zips his uniform jacket all the way to the top in every episode? He does it in "Workforce", too, when he's wearing the plant's uniform.

Ah-ha! That line always irked me. And now I know why.

I look at him as the older brother she always wanted but never had since SHE was the oldest of two girls in her nuclear family.

Hence the way she loves to tease him, and the "insubordination" she tolerates from him. "Clearly, it was an understatement." is STILL one of my all time fav lines from him.

Thanks, froot. Oh, and the pics of J/Tu :weep: Also because I know what meant to Kate re: her mother. Is it just me or is Jeri Taylor unsung hero of Trek? Apart from co-creating VOY, think she did best/most challenging eps of TNG...

I have younger sister, so yes...understand the teasing element :) Maybe that's what I liked, and I think you're right...

Unsung hero . . . . The devil . . . . It matters what side you're on.

She's a brilliant character writer. Wonderful at character moments. But there are times that limited Voyager, she kind of through it into the corner of Janeway, which is not bad at all, but it kind of took away from the other characters and when she left well the Doctor and Seven were the only one's other than Janeway to get ample screen time. She's still my favorite though.

She wrote some unbelievable episodes. :) Can't recall any but Resolutions and Coda right now though.

^ was just curious as know JT's credit very prominent on credits of VOY and assumed she had a lot of input into creation of series - specifically Janeway? (plz correct if wrong). Can't remember specific VOY eps she may have written but aware (as currently watching TNG for first time) she def wrote eps that were more 'complex'/emotional than Moore ( who I like) and Braga (yuck) fanwank...

Janeway is very much Jeri Taylor's baby/Mary Sue. :) They share the same hometown... :P

EDIT: I don't really have a preference for one half of the series over the other, but I appreciate the edge in Season 4 - Season 7 that we didn't exactly get with Taylor at the helm.

The bad part, of course, is that we got into Janeway's head a lot less after she was gone.

I just googled that. Never knew :) But suspected as much. One of the things I really admire about her from watching intv with her on TNG DVDs is that she took the trouble to immerse herself in TOS, whereas that lazy mofo Braga never did...

And just to keep on thread...

Not sure why, but kinda like this one. Maybe because it got them off the ship...

ME! Makes him distinctive and 'Vulcan'. And as YBF can appreciate man who presents himself correctly

LOVE that pic, Lurok. I mean, I love it.

PS: what is "YBF"? :alienblush:
