How is Janeway sexy?

Okay so I made this in response to all the happy campers who think Janeway being dead is God's gift to Treklit. I'm going to post it on my blog etc.. maybe someone can do better but I thought I'd keep it simple with classic book writing font which also suited the noir element of the pic.

Pass it on, yo! Let's meme this thing. Go crazy, make all different ones. I can so hear Janeway saying this.

FFFFFF that picture is AWESOME.

Also, I'm kinda staying out of that "Full Circle" thread. I don't know if I even want to wander in there, particularly if Kirsten Beyer herself is getting involved, LOL. It looked like it started with an innocuous query about ship types and rolled downhill from there.

Well I posted a response in jest but it quickly snowballed.

And really the thread is about Full Circle so it's hardly off topic. I think it's been fairly civilized so far BUT.. why do the fanboys object so much to our wishing she wasn't dead? The answer seems to be that the are thrilled that she IS dead. And the reasons for that animosity are all kinds of nastiness IMHO.

Who knows? They just have issues with it. God forbid we miss her.

But Kate made a joke out of her death.

Thank you TrekMovie
I don’t know if you heard, but do you know what they have done to your character in the books?

What? I hope she has taken a lover.

[BOOK SPOILER ALERT] I hate to break the news to you, but she’s dead.

Am I dead? Why did they kill her?

Peter David wrote a book ["Before Dishonor"] where Janeway became the Borg Queen for a little while, to try and instigate, and they tried to rescue her and she died in the process, but then her soul–it’s complicated. But basically she is now with the Q Continuum, so there is always a possibility of her coming back, but they pretty much killed her.

That is all that matters. As long as I am with Q, I am good. [laughs]

Actually, I think it was the female Q, the Suzie Plakson Q.

Oh, well that is a drag, I want to be with John DeLancie!

This image would seem to prove things are turning ugly in there, yes?

Maybe I could make a pic or two to contribute to the cause, though. Fanboys do love to drink the haterade.

Really?

I haven't been there (full circle thread), so don't know what's going on, but who's doing the "hating"? AntiJanewayites, or we Janeway fanatics who can't take what they did to "OUR" Captain. Er... "OUR" Admiral!

I think it's clear there is a big anti-Janeway sentiment out there. Why be GLAD she is dead? Don't care, fine, but be glad?

That said, the thread is relatively civilized. I just think Janeway herself would be pretty kick ass about demanding not to be dead, if she had that option :D

It's interesting how so many of you love Mulgrew's voice. It's very unusual, but it doesn't affect my opinion of her "sexiness" in the least.

It's old school sexy, that's for sure. Think 40's films. Nowadays I don't think people pay attention to women's voices for sexiness, though you will still hear people talk about male voices that way.

*cough*Patrick Stewart*cough*

*cough*Hugh Laurie*cough*

*cough*Hugh Jackman(Australian)*cough*

I'm just sayin' . . . . .

Yeah male voices. Name a bunch of sexy female voices off the top of your head, not there any more. And yet voices of women actors were once a big part of their sex appeal.

Besides Kate?

And I actually had to think. I know I'm missing someone . . . .

*Coff* Kathleen Turner *Coff* for one! (Saw her in a one woman show about Tallulah Bankhead... talk about a voice!)

*Coff* Faye Dunaway *coff* (Saw her in a one woman show... "MAsterclass". GOSH she was AWESOME!)

Whenever I think of Faye Dunaway all I can hear is "No wire hanger's EVER!"

Actresses today with wonderful voices:

Emma Thompson
Famke Jansen
Kate Winslet
Meryl Streep
Glenn Close
Katherine Heigl
Rachel McAdams

I have NEVER seen that movie... and I don't think I want to if that's still ringing in your ears! :rommie: (I have that problem with Glen Close and bunny rabbits!)

Fay Dunaway was awesome in her One woman show, especially as the ushers were sitting a couple who arrived late and the "teacher" of the Masterclass gave them "what for" because they were tardy!

Oh, I laughed at myself last night after siging off, when I forgot two actresses from BSG...

Mary McDonnell (My FAV recap line of ALL time was from "Television w/o Pity", the week before she was slated to die in that second season... "I don't care what they do next week, I don't care if they SHOOT HER IN THE CANCER! Just DON'T let her DIE!" :bolian: :bolian: :bolian:

Oh, and that New Zealand chick, what's her name? Played #3 in BSG... ;) Lucy Lawless. I loved her voice in BSG for a couple reasons, they let her accent free, and it was becoming much more naturally mature than even when she tried to rein it in on XWP.

Speaking of voices... (switching sides) I know most don't like him around here, but I could sit and listen to Robert Beltran read the phone book. :sigh:

I don't recommend it. It wasn't very good.

But Faye was crazy in it. And it gives me satisfaction whenever I call my mom "Mommy Dearest" as I walk out and she yells the hanger line after me.

I have never seen Lucy Lawless in BSG or for that matter Xena.

I would listen to Beltran read the phonebook. I think that's the only reason why I have a podcast of him on my iPod.

EDIT: Oh my God, Elizabeth Taylor died . . . . I knew it was coming but I didn't think it would be this soon . . . .
