Hah! That's when I just gesticulate wildly and dash around the classroom. I know it looks dorky, but you really have to turn the volume up if you want to keep people's attention. Particularly college students.
I like the idea of gesticulating wildly. Perhaps I shall do this today for fun. I'll have to practice my DHW as well. And I thought the little I saw of your lecture was interesting! Those sleepy students don't know what they're missing if they're zoning out.
And any time I place my hands on my hips, it just looks like I'm nursing a backache. I don't think I have it in me to pull it off.
So, I woke up in a cold sweat from I dream I had last night wherein a bunch of people decided to blow up Earth and most of the people on it. A privileged few were going to escape a la "2012," and I was one of them. But then I decided to channel my inner Morgan Freeman and stay behind. I told my departing husband I loved him (even though he decided to let me die alone, that ass) and then ran around yelling at folks who were leaving and telling them they were bad people. Chakotay happened along, and I gave him an f-bomb laced tirade before I woke up.
I figure it's probably a premonition and we're all going to die. Are there any doomsday dates left open? I could make signs.
Yes, some believe that the Maya and/or the Aztecs predicted that the world will end in 2012. I am extremely excited about this and already have an ART project planned to commemorate the event.

I sort of wanted to set my own doomsday date, though. I know December 2012 is already taken, and so's October 21 of this year. I need to stand out from the crowd and have a different date.

It would be a fun collaborative project to pretend that our "cult" thinks that Janeway predicted the end of the world on that date. However, as Teacake said earlier: "Getting kicked off the BBS is not on my list of things to do today."
