I have to say I am very upset about who the Mother is. I feel robbed and unless they make this make since I'll toss this show aside.

Way to jump the gun, ThunderAero!

For all we know at this point, "she" just feels horridly guilty about what she did, and wants to hook him up with a friend of hers who she knows he'll love.

Personally, though, I wouldn't mind her being the mom, cause I've had the warm fuzzies for her for a LONG time. :)

hopefully it's a "meet my friend" moment. Not that I don't love Sarah Chalke, it's just that I'd like to see them go elsewhere. Plus, you think that the kids would have figured it out when he was telling the earlier stories about Stella. That, and back when he said that if he had gone through with the marriage, the kids wouldn't have been born. (that, and her own kid not being on the couch with the other two)

^^ Agreed, it's gotta be the "meet my friend" scenario.

I loved Marshall's Cecelia chart :guffaw: I wonder how many people are too yound to get that joke.

Very disappointed that Robin Sherbatsky vomit didn't turn up a specific youtube video.

And you can add me to the like-Sarah-Chalke-but-hope-she's-not-the-mother camp.

- My heart skiped a beat when I heard Robin say she was pregnant. Then I thought... It's a little late to work that in, but... Wow! Then it was revealed to be a little joke.

- We also found out that Barney is 39.

- I always love those Baney/Robin moments.

- No, I don't think that Stella is the mother.

At first I was like :vulcan: and then I got :cardie: and then it was :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::techman:

Man, I loved that bit.

I saw a website a few months ago that had a series of diagrams like that based off of lyrics. Wish I could find it now.

And we have had a lot of Presidents with dirty names.

I don't know, the way they were building it up, it sure LOOKED like she's the mother.

I really like her character on the show (and her and Ted seem good together)... but dammit, she's already been JD's girl on Scrubs for the last 8 years!! It just feels weird to have her be the dreamgirl here too.

Kind of a let down when it was Sarah Chalke, and no she's not the mother, Ted said earlier the mother have a yellow umbrella, Sarah had a blue one.

But I'm wondering how long are they are drag along the meeting, if it gets canceled he never meets her.

The umbrella isn't really the issue: Ted found it at a club (the episode with no tomorrow, no repercussions, act as bad as you want!) and it was said that the mother left it behind.

It seems like it mostly won't work because Ted said that if he had married Stella, he'd have never married their mother, so that seems kinda conclusive right there ;)

Yeah I suppose he was just really happy and hugging everyone because his reunion with Stella is going to lead to finally meeting the mother. Or something...

Did anybody else notice that they misspelled Chalke's name in the "miniscule" end credits? They spelled it "Sara."

Don't be. This is clearly another red herring. It would make no sense whatsoever if she's "the mother", both within the continuity of the show and for dramatic purposes.

Exactly.

What I was expecting -- until the last second -- was a totally new woman to be standing there and saying, "Excuse me, but I think that's my umbrella."

^ I was doing the same thing. The moment I saw him with that umbrella I started getting excited. And I admit I was a little perturbed that the decided to tease us yet again with Stella. :klingon: I really wanted someone new to be standing there.

But I have to admit that I have no idea who could play "Mother" at this point. Will the person they pick to play her live up to all of the hype? Will the chemistry work between the actors? This has to be one of the most critical bits of casting I have ever seen on a comedy show so I don't think they will go into this half cocked. It may take them the entire hiatus to come find the perfect someone for the role so I am not expecting to find out who it is until next fall.

Oh and the Robin pregnancy thing was hysterical. For a moment... a brief one... I thought they might actually be serious. And can I just say how much I am missing Lilly right now? :( Marshall is cute but his character seems lost without her as back-up.

And then Barney and the 200... I have to agree that was just... gross.

^ I'm glad they pointed out that 200 wasn't very much given Barney's antics. I was thinking the same thing before Marshall brought it up.
