LOL, I STRONGLY suspect "nonhuman" is also a part of people's mental image of me, as well. Beyond that--I have no idea!
How do they see me?
Hmmm....a bit grouchy, a bit kind. A bit profane. (a BIT you say?
) A bit funny, a bit daffy. A middle-aged woman, a "Romulan." A bit of a bitch. A redhead. The person who runs this insane asylum, yet a regular poster too. A Star Trek dork/geek.

Man, I was thinking people were actually noticing me because they were saying such nice things about me in the "How do you see the person above you" thread. And then I went and posted a picture in the pic thread and was completely ignored except for cyph. Fame is so fleeting.
Did you take the image down right away or something? I saw Cyph's reply, but didn't have the faintest idea who he was responding to! Then I saw you reply to him, but I don't think I've seen an image of you in MISC recently... Weird. Maybe the image just didn't show up on most people's monitors? I know we have been having tbbs trouble lately...

I saw the one from a week or so ago, I didn't see the second one though... I think you didn't leave it long enough for many to see it... most people only pop into that topic only once every few days or so. Sounds to me like you only left it up for a few hours - can't complain of being ignored in those circumstances!

^ Ooh, that sounds yummy! I almost did the same last night, after a couple of glasses of strawberry wine, but didn't have any images ready at hand online, so the temptation passed, before I could do it. I always used to feel terribly anxious and shy when I did. So I simply decided not to do it anymore.

That's not atypical for a Misc picture thread. I look through the pictures 'cause it's fun to see what folks look like, but some of the comments and drooling over those perceived as more attractive than others (usually young and female fall into this category) is rather off-putting.
People are judged on their looks and TrekBBS is no exception.
I view T'Bonz as very compassionate and kind who also helped me when I was younger.
Strawberry wine sounds delicious, but knowing me I'd probably be allergic. Water is my favorite beverage, with chocolate martini making a close second.
Of course I not only posted pics last night, but I drunkenly made several people go into the IRC chat and we had fun. Ah, the exciting life of a drunken trekkie!

It's alright. No one pays attention to me either.
But, I do remember you, you're from India right? I love India. I have been there a couple of times. (I haven't been to the picture thread for ages so haven't seen any you would've posted there.)

This is actually part of why, if people have to know I'm female (which tends to become evident, eventually) I choose to present myself with the image of a Cardassian.
This way, people HAVE to acknowledge right off that their image of me is total fantasy, and they have no idea what I'm actually like IRL and can't make judgments (or invade my privacy) based on that.
BTW, besides the grey skin and eye ridges...I wonder, how am I perceived around here?
