So I phrased it poorly. This is a thread about how other people view you and I think of you as having a strange obsession with teams getting new ballparks.
To answer your question - of course the CBP is an improvement over the Vet. However, I couldn't care less about the Marlins or the Rays situation, because I will never have to watch a game at Tropicana field; furthermore they don't exactly have many fans to pity. Attendance would temporarily spike with a new park, but it would probably go right back down (the Phils average dropped by 7,000 their second year in CBP and only went back up because they're now competitive). Hell, the Rays are only drawing 50% capacity and they nearly won the WS last year. Furthermore, Landshark (22 years old) and the Trop (19) are not exactly dinosaurs.
For the record, I don't think of JKTim as a "loser." I think of him as an "epic rant constructor." Rooting for the Cubbies results in many JKTim masterpieces.
You are, of course, entirely correct.
They may not be old, but they clearly suck for baseball. Especially Landshark. With very few exceptions (and by "very few" I mean "Rogers Centre"), you can't build one stadium for both baseball and football - it simply doesn't work. And the Florida weather practically demands a retractable roof. Just ask the grounds crew down there.
(As for the Trop, it's a dump as well, but at least it was built for baseball.)
