How do you want to be 'memorialized'?

I don't have any real objection to cremation, and it would seem like the fiscally wiser choice. But it lacks the historical connection represented by centuries of ritual burial.

Every Roman Emperor was cremated, and the practice was also standard among the Germanic tribes and various other pagan groups in Europe. If anything, burial with a headstone is the new kid on the block as far as western civilization goes.

As for me: Take anything that could be of use to others (up to and including my entire skeleton) and burn whatever is left over.

I can't fathom the mindset of people like Geckothan. Why not let people have your organs? You're not using them anymore.

I guess because he'd like to be resurrected someday when the technology is available. Then again, he could just opt to have his organs cloned.

As for me, I would prefer not to be cremated, but those urns looks so good! If I chose an urn, I would prefer something bronze, marble or ceramic. The metallic ones are reasonably priced, too.

I'm probably going to end up in a casket, and I would prefer something like Buckingham or Sistine.

I want to be cremated. They can carve out all my organs and then burn what's left of my body. I won't have any more use for it.

As far as I'm concerned, burial in the ground is a waste of good real estate. I plan to donate my body to science. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll get dissected by a cute female med student.

Yes, observant Jews don't believe in cremation. That's because it destroys evidence in case the family wants to file a malpractice suit!

No. I just intend to have myself cyogenically frozen when I'm on death's door. Then, at some point in the future when they figure out how to reverse the aging process, they can unthaw me and make me a teenager again.

I'll just keep doing that for eternity.

I forgot to say earlier, people can take whatever they want of my dead body and then cremate me. Or they can study me for science. I don't really care, I just don't want my body hangin' around too long after I die, if possible.
