How do you rewatch your DVDs?

I'm finishing up my last DVDs of my set. I only have Seasons 5-7, and I can't get the other Seasons for a while because of funds and availability. My question to all of you is: Do you have a specific "order" or organizational way to rewatch your episodes, or is it a spur of the moment type thing?

I was personally thinking of separating the episodes into good character episodes and good story episodes that move DS9's plot foward. Maybe I would watch the story during the week before I go to bed and leave the character episodes for the weekend... any ideas?

The reason I posted this in the DS9 thread is because unlike TNG, Enterprise (well, i dont know this series), and somewhat Voyager, DS9 has a continuously evolving plot with many story-arcs. So I think watching the storyline over makes more sense.

I bought my DS9 DVDs straight away when they came out, and I started watching them in order straight away. I missed some episodes here and there though to get to the end quicker, which I recently decided I shouldn't have done.

Since then I've just randomly watched episodes here and there. What I started a few weeks ago was a big rewatch from the start, which I'm appreciating much more. Sure, some of the episodes are TNG-lite, but there are just so many little pieces of character building along the way that it's been fun. I'm only on season 3 and Odo's already been through this huge arc in trying to discover who he was.

The show is no Babylon 5 in it's planning, but the way it just keeps building and building upon itself, like a snowball getting bigger and bigger... Yeah it's good. So yeah, watching it all the way through is what's doing it for me at the moment.

DS9 does demand to be watched 'in order', because of its many character and story arcs. But I also like to quiet my mind and allow those episodes that are most entertaining to call out to me, saying, "Watch Me!" I thought everybody did this, and now I'm a little worried about myself.

In the case of DS9, I would hear calls from some of the lighter eps, like Little Green Men (sadly, from season 4, so you don't have this one), Trials and Tribble-ations, and Take Me Out to the Holo-Suite.

I just decide on a season then watch all the episodes of that season in order, and then move on to the next seasons after it til the series is over. However there are 5 or 6 unwatchable worthless dud episodes in every single season which I simply always skip and never watch. Ie: Melora, Fascination, Resurrection, Chrysalis etc. etc.

I tend to over-saturate myself on Season 5 - 7 moreso than the earlier seasons because they have the most Weyoun and Dominion which is one of my favorite parts of the show, and less Bajorans which are one of my least favorite parts of the show.

Other than the D War/Jemmie eps, ususally its when something funny from an episode pops into my head... or some specific drama that I liked- like Ties of Blood and Water even tho its sad... or Duet.
