How do you make tricky decisions?

How do you decide?

Don't wait for the translation! Answer me now!

There has been an incident, however everything is under control.

Judging from Holdfasts previous posts, it's probably choosing between 2 suits! :) I mean, determining the ramifications between that would be very difficult to determine at the time of purchase!

Buy both! Wait. We have discovered a principle with wider applicability... :D

How to I make a tricky decision? I ask the BBS, of course.

OK, not really. Here's what I really do: I think about it, a lot. I pray - not so much for guidance as for "Please, God, help me to not screw up." ;) I might even do the pros and cons thing (and I am heartbroken - heartbroken - that I didn't think of the "prose and cons" pun myself). I think about it some more. I fret. I fuss.

Then I try to stop thinking about it for a while.

The next time I think about it, I am usually pretty sure what the correct choice is.

Then, of course, there is an additional twist: What if the correct choice isn't my favorite choice? Because sometimes the real dilemma isn't "What should I do?" It's "Should I do the thing I really want to do or should I do the thing I am pretty sure I ought to do?"

The world is a weird sort of place around Christmas. All sort of unusual synchronicities seem to happen this time of year... today was especially lol-some in the coincidence category; just goes to show time is sometimes the best answer to difficult decisions!

Please tell me the decision wasn't about the bloody pocket-square-cravat and instead involved DangerMouse in some nefarious way.

Now you're just tormenting us.

I worry, fret and procrastinate in a feeble attempt to defer the decision for as long as I can. Then I wait for the situation to worsen because of my indecision and I worry about that.

:D

You have no idea how familiar this methodology sounds to me. Oh well, it's good to know I am not alone, anyway.:p
