How do you like your tea?

oh goodness, I love tea: Japanese green teas- genmaicha, sencha and matcha green tea powder. The latter you can mix with milk ( I often use rice milk) and a sweetener ( usually honey for me or agave syrup if I have it.) I really, really love honeybush and I had a hard time finding it lately, but Numi brand is the best I've tried. Jasmine green tea, Chai.. that's mostly what I have. But I also do take English breakfast, Irish breakfast and Earl Grey with milk and honey sometimes.

I made some great (imho) iced tea a couple of weeks ago, when it was really really hot.

A litre of water + 2 bags of Twinings Java tea + some jasmine green tea (not too much, its taste can be somewhat overpowering) + some lotus green tea + a slice of orange
+ 2 lumps of sugar. Let it brew for a while and put it in the fridge. Yum yum. =)

^ Sounds interesting! I think I have all those teas in my cupboard - I'll probably try that. Thanks for the recipe, AdAstra. Is it a common mix in your neck of the woods?

So many variations... I'm waiting for someone to come in and say "while doing a handstand, held by my toes". :p

Despise tea, just like coffee or any other warm drink. Makes it slightly awkward when visiting someone or at workplaces. Good thing there's always water.

I like Darjeeling with one sugar. I really like the muscatel notes in the aroma. Sometimes, if I'm feeling heretical, I'll add either lemon or milk.

Lady Grey is nice too; the citrus notes add some much needed lift and refreshment to the underlying bergamot. I find Earl Grey too heavy.

Poured down the sink and replaced with coffee.

I agree, though I'm not a huge fan of coffee either, but it's far better than tea. Tea just tastes like water with an aftertaste to me, coffee actually has flavour and is satisfying to drink.

Usually Japanese green. On a cold day, I like it hot, no addatives. On hot day, I like it iced with two Truvias or Splendas.

But I'm open and have tried any number of teas. Never know when you'll discover something great, or at least perfect for that moment.

Does anybody, by the way, know a blend of tea that's quite stronger then Earl Grey?

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea of someone not being able to taste tea.

It seems to me that if you can't taste your tea, then, as the saying goes, "you're doing it wrong."

I would first suggest using a little more tea, and letting it steep a little longer.

If that doesn't work--well, there are some pretty strong tea blends out there.

For example: I guarantee you that you will be able to taste Lapsang Souchong--though personally, I can't stand the stuff: it's much too strong for me, and its flavour reminds me of Latakia pipe tobacco, which I also dislike.

Your best bet might be to talk to the staff at a coffee/tea shop.

4 kinds are generally to my liking:

Black with milk

Chai with milk

Iced with lemon (no sugar)

Oolong or green, plain & hot.
