Simple question. How do you get around? How do you get to work in the morning? Go to the store? Go to school?

Personally, I take the bus to and from work every day right now, and walk\bike pretty much everywhere else as I live right in downtown Ottawa.

Car for everything in the summer, walk to classes during the school year (or take a bus). There's simply no other way around driving to places where I live.

I take my bike almost everywhere nowadays, but I only recently started that. Most of the time I was taking the bus or walking.

Groceryshopping with my brother and his car sometimes... not even sure that counts.

Car. I love driving, so I would still use my car even if public transportation was available.

I only have a motorcycle license, and no motorcycle at the moment, so on foot and bicycle most of the time and the occasional bus/train when the distance requires it or when I'm with kiddo.

For going to work, it's always by car. If I went by public transport, it would take about 4 or 5 times longer as there's nothing like a direct public transport route. It'd also cost considerably more.

To the local town, always walk. To the local city, usually public transport (rail rather than bus).

I use a combination of the Tube and good old fashioned walking.

I don't own a bike or a car and I don't have a licence to drive.

I travel by car pretty much exclusively, with some occasional walking and maybe an annual rail trip.

I travel mostly by car, since I live in a suburban area with mediocre public transit and work in an even more suburban area with worse public transit, but when I go into San Francisco, Oakland, or Berkeley, I take BART (the train). You couldn't pay me enough to drive in SF. Every street is narrow and one-way in the wrong direction, and parking costs $25 if you're lucky. (Not to mention the $4 toll to get across the bridge.)

However, my car is a beat-up 20 year old Toyota, so I'm still going the cheap route.

i walk to the local Tesco Express or the PO unless it's raining or really hot and i don't want to get REALLY sweaty and then i'll bus over and walk back.

work, i bus in and back as it's 6 miles and i ain't walking that.

to the main Tesco i usually bus in and taxi back w/mum.

Public transport and walking.

I never invested in a driving license as I couldn't be bothered parting with the money. Did the math and public transport ended up being cheaper in the end so never did anything to rectify the situation.

I'll walk if I can though, say if I'm close enough. Or occasionally the hour long walk to train.

Most of the time, on foot. I love walking. I feel lazy when I get in a car. I don't mind driving in winter but when the weather is nice, I want to walk and enjoy it.

I try to walk as much as possible. I'd bike, but Albuquerque is on the side of the mountain and that's too much for me.

Though obviously there are those times when I have to drive. I'd be nice if I lived in a more condensed town. If I could, I'd ditch the car all together. For as little as I use it, it does siphon the cash rather rapidly.

When I'm back in good ol' DC, I generally get around by foot and the metro. I usually only use the car to ge tto my fiancee's condo or vacation house.

Work is 200 yards down the street, so I walk. The grocery store is 6 blocks away, so it depends, often I walk. Church(es) and bars are the same way, depends, usually I walk.

For everything else, like traveling for a bigger city's entertainment, it's by car.

I drive my car nearly everywhere. I only use public transit if I need to go into downtown D.C., which isn't very often.

Letsee I walk to my car which I take to the bus to get to the subway. Yeah the mornings are real fuckin fun.
