How do you feel about Valentines Day?

I'm scheduled to donate blood that day. Coincidence, but it seems oddly appropriate.

I do miss getting a slew of valentines on the holiday because that was one of the big appeals when I was a kid and teenager, but most of my inner circles of friends and family members now share valentines only with their significant others if they have them (and even bother to give them anything in the first place) and don't tend to give anybody else a card or special message even if it's purely platonic and friendly.

Elementary school in February used to be a whirlwind of valentines, candy exchanges and fun things to do. The handmade valentines with crayons and markers were the most fun.

I wonder how many people are scheduled for heart transplants that day. :rommie:

I can think of a few who need one....

That reminds me....there's a Charlie Brown Valentine's Day cartoon I haven't seen in eons. I might look it up for old time's sake.

Time to watch Trading Places (1983). ;)

On one level I think why do you need a speical day to show someone how much you care about, but if it makes them happy good for them. That being a single person, I can sometimes find valentines day, one of the hardest on a emotional level. Don't get me wrong except for a few days of the year I usually don't mind that I'm single, however that doesn't mean I wouldn't like someone to share my life with.

It's a great holiday for lovers and singles.

Hallmark Holiday, but more importantly, a real Kobayashi Maru for men, and, I would imagine, a lady or two...
