How do you alphabetize your movie collection?

My DVD's are in chronological order.
Same here. It's nice to just look at it and see like the 80s, 90s, 00s, etc
And even bring looking at years like all the movies that came out in 1999 or 2008 or whatever.

My oldest (so first) is The Time Machine from 1960, to the latest, Suicide Squad from last August obviously

How do you organize the movies within their chronological order? Or do you?
How do you mean, like which ones come first per year? Just literally based on when they were released. It's all on IMDB. I first did it years ago, over a few days where I had nothing to do, I just went through IMDB and made a list on Word of all the movies I have and noted down their original release dates.
I do it based on their initial general release, whenever it was properly released in the world (whichever country got it first) but I don't count premieres or film festivals etc

So if I buy a movie now I'll look up it's original release and slot it in appropriately. Haha I suppose it's a bit of an effort but when you have IMDB literally in your pocket nowadays with smart phones, and the list is on my phone too, it doesn't take very long.

So for example I got The Conjuring the other week, 18 July 2013, so it went between Pacific Rim (11 July) and The Wolverine (25 July) :D

Interesting way of sorting movies. How do you find a movie if you don't know it's name or release date?

How can you have a film on DVD/Blu-ray and not know it's name? And if it's out on physical media it will be on IMDB to look up

I have 20 slip cases, each with 72 slips. (20 x 72 = 1440)

There's a dvd in every slip.

Each dvd has 3 to 6 movies on it. (5 movies x 1440 dvds = 7200 movies.)

Each dvd, in each slip case, is numbered. 001 through to 072.

In the back of each slip case is a (paper) key I made with microsoft word and sellotape.

Each key (it looks like a birthday card made by a child) is an alphabetized list of all the movies in any singular slip case, which is between 3 to 5 hundred movies, that directs me to which numbered disk that that each of those movies from each list, is in each slip case.

OCD much?
