How did the Sarah Sisko Prophet end up in the Orb?

I cannot buy that the Prophet inhabiting Sarah Sisko's body managed to act like a human being convincingly.

Depend on whether the Prophet was in total control and Sarah was completely suppressed.

If instead the Prophet was just providing guidance and overall goals, while Sarah was in control of second by second actions, then the Prophet wouldn't have to "act like a Human being."

Perhaps that's literally true, and they are the far-future descendants of Bajorans. We see them in the 'present' because of their non-linearity.

I actually like this quite a bit. I'd never considered anything like that before. It would certainly explain why they care about that planet so much.

It's not just Sisko who's a paradox. It's the entire Bajoran culture.

Good points from you both. Lol at Bob! I took from it that the Prophet had total control of Sarah because she left Joseph and Benjamin when the Prophet left her body. I think it's a case of the writers not bothering to explain it so I made up my own explanation

I like that theory about the Prophets being evolved Bajorans too. It would put everything they did into context. I'm one of those people who needs things to have an explanation (as some may have noticed) and this would work for me.

The latest DS9 novel seems to imply they were from Bajor's distant past if anything though it hasn't been explained fully.

Not convinced the Prophets really cared about the Bajorans. Only thing they cared about was Bajor itself and that was because it was their Supermax prison. The Bajorans were really just an annoying animal that had the the potential to chew through the barb wire fence.

Everything has to start somewhere so either the Prophets created Sisko or Sisko taught the Prophets how to create him. Neither of which can exist without the other so one of them had to come first which is a huge plot hole in the entire story.

I've always imagined if I ever somehow happened into being a writer for scifi I'd have a scene like this.

Something really terrible is about to happen like a horrible demon plague is about to be unleashed, and one character says "We can only stop the explosion the Stone of Zyndos! But it was lost long ago, it will take us years to find it, and we only have a few minutes!"

Then suddenly, a time portal opens, and a much older looking version of himself jumps out of it, gasps "The stone...the stone..." hands him the stone and dies.

And he's just like "Neat!" and uses it.
