How did Alfred Pennyworth keep all of Wayne Manor clean by himself?

Didn't mean it that way... it's just a badly impractical costume for a crime fighter, especially one who does a lot of close-in fighting (BIFF! BAM! POW!)... you get thrown down on the asphalt once, and your knees are a bloody mess. Even Batman could use some knee pads over those tights.
It was thing in the forties. Costumes owed more to circuses than practicality. They rarely if ever had padding or armor. Stayed that way for decades.

Back then kids wore shorts, full pants were a symbol of adulthood.

Indeed some recent costumes have those.

Maybe. But I would think that having Gotham's crimefighting duo at 50% strength because Robin's always laid up with road rash would be... impractical.

How did he do it? Or did Bruce invent a machine that cleans. It seems that Alfred does the cooking, cleaning, work as a medic, clothes, cleaning/mending super-suits, and be available for advice or to put any of the Bat Family in their place if need be? Did he use Oompa Loompa's? Elves? How'd he do it?

There is a better question than hiring maids and servants to clean the mansion. What about the bat cave? Looking at how high tech, the size of the cave It is impossible for Bruce and Alfred to build that gigantic secret base by themselves alone. Even with Lucius, we can't even imagined if the three of them doing all the labor alone. Specially if we looking at the movie version of Batman.

It is more logical if Bruce Wayne is actually the leader of a secret organization that funded by Wayne Industry; and Batman is actually a big project that involve a lot of people. From Engineers, Scientists, Masons, Carpenters, Hackers, etc. And maybe it will be more logical if actually Bruce has a squad of Batman who consists of Ex-Navy Seals, Ex Delta Force, etc. So he can cover all Gotham without any problem.

Wasn't there a reference in one of the movies to Bruce bring in a bunch of foreign workers who didn't speak English to work on the Batcave? I swear I remember a line like that somewhere.

i remember that too, probably in one of the first 2000s movies.

That was what I was thinking too, but I wasn't sure enough to post it.

Don't recall it fro any of the Nolanverse movies.

Only how parts and equipment were ordered from all over the world via shell companies.

In the first one, Bruce and Alfred do the work in the cave themselves (scene were Bruce is up in a harness finishing the wiring and the loyal butler throws the power lever.).

I think it was Blue Beetle. They then get deported. It's why Batman is called a fascist!:guffaw:

I assume Alfred just used a cleaning crew and kept them out of any parts of the Manor with access to the cave. Robin and the rest should know to use the cave entrances when injured.

Rich people build elaborate secret safe rooms all the time. There are likely regular vendors for that stuff. Once you get the basics done (including support structures for later crane usage, electrical, and easy large vehicle access through the cave), you just need to get all the high tech stuff into a Wayne Industries warehouse in modular form for transport. Wayne and/or Pennyworth should be able to drive a truck and use a crane for the final tech installations.

I beg to pardon, but Rich People's secret room is different to the Bat Cave. First of all, Rich People build their secret room for security. so they don't have any problem if the where-about of their secret room is known to the police.

But the Batcave is different. Because Batman is a vigilante. Which mean that he's considered as a criminal to the police. So Bruce needs to make sure that his hideout should be a secret, even to the police. To build a big high tech cave like in the movie, it will need a great deal of effort. So it will be more logical if Batman has his own secret team to support his Batman operation from behind the scene.

Well, maybe Batman's original creator didn't have any plan to make the Batcave to be so big / high tech like in the movie, I think. At most, it should be as simple as the secret base of Green Hornet Movie. Which mean it doesn't require a lot of money and effort to build that. Specially when Batman is just a Vigilante who basically only fight against Mafia and gangsters in a city. So he doesn't need a high tech bunker to become his hideout.

Not really. Billionaires often build elaborate secret bunkers designed to withstand nuclear war.

First of all, Rich People build their secret room for security. so they don't have any problem if the where-about of their secret room is known to the police.

Secrecy is a high priority for rich people building secret rooms and bunkers. There's no reason to think police would be informed, and such workers are typically given small tasks that never give them a sense of the over-all security system.

But the Batcave is different. Because Batman is a vigilante. Which mean that he's considered as a criminal to the police. The whole point of these contractors is that they are groups paid very well by rich people to keep quiet. And, as far as the contractors are concerned, it's just another project for a billionaire trying to survive the end of the world. All the vigilante high tech stuff would be installed by Bruce or Alfred later.
