The same applies to books. There are days when I'll ignore the stack of books I have from the library, and dip into one of my Black Widowers mystery collections by Asimov. It doesn't matter that I've read the story again and again; it's just enjoyable to experience.
I have watched every episode more times than I can count and will never get bored of it. But I have a friend who is just getting in to Trek so is watching it all for the first time. It is a bit like reliving it all again and you do get a fresh perspective. Sometimes I even spot something I have never noticed before, even if it a reference here and there.
i agree with Anji. It helps unwind doesnt it like a "bedtime story" almost. Plus even though you may know the lines what happens next sometimes you forget little things and are pleasantly surprised with each rewatch and you can just lose yourself into another place and forgot about worries etc no matter how many times you watch episodes. for me anyways
