Typically, I watch on my office laptop sometime Thursdays afternoon, depending on what our household schedule is like. I look for an hour when I'm unlikely to interrupted, after we've attended to today's errands and to-do list, when the cat is napping, any urgent mails answered, etc. Often I'll watch it over lunch, but not at any specific time.

The series has been coming out between 11:10 and 11:20 Wednesday Night for me, so I've been able to see it right when it's released. I watch on the Apple TV on the CBS App.

I watch on Prime on a Friday evening. But I love spoilers, so I usually have a good idea what's happened before I watch (must to my other half's disgust).

Ah so you like the way it’s told rather than the conclusion. A true connoisseur....

Thursday late at night or Friday morning via a firestick with HDR forced on.

I'm debating on not watching it until all episodes are out as I think I'd enjoy it more bingeing. Maybe when they reach Soji I'll stop and then plan a weekend binge.

A couple of scenarios, please, Hythlodeus.

It’s interesting how many people watch on a small screens (I assume). And no incense, gongs, self-flagellation?
since it's coming up at around 3 am, it usually depends on a couple of things: is my wife already asleep, am I tired or did I have more coffee than Janeway on a stressful day, will my working day the next day be hard or not, etc.
Sometimes I watch the minute it arrives, sometimes I watch it early in the morning the next day before going to work and episode 4 I even watched after work. I watched two episodes on my giant TV, the rest of them on my laptop...
I'm not one for rituals

Friday is a very special day now, somhow do you watch a new episode of Picard? Do you have any rituals or similar, for watching the show?

I don’t mind waiting a day or two before I watch a new episode although I prefer watching on the day of release in case I die before getting a chance to watch it later on.

In the morning, I meditate, go to the gym, have a light lunch (one should never watch Picard on a full stomach) and ensure I’m alone in the house, checking under beds, the sofa and the cloakroom in the hallway.

I ensure the postwoman has been and any Amazon Prime orders have been delivered, so after 2pm is about right.

I brew a pint of tea (Yorkshire tea) and procure a two finger Kit Kat and an orange Kit Kat to consume whilst drinking and watching.

I ready the new episode and engage the subtitles (Many of the American actors have poor diction, mumble their dialogue or get it lost in the background, so it’s a necessity for me at least).

I press play but find I can’t sit still all the way through. I rewind, to watch critical segments again, enjoy a witticism or funny moment or perhaps get up to ‘osmoregulate’ (pint of tea, you see).

Thus it takes me about 60 mins to watch a whole episode.

I tend to watch them again the following week and notice subtleties I missed the first time.

I used to burn incense, ring bells and incant the name of Ishal ma Haq, but it became a bit tiresome and I made up Ishal ma Haq, so I began feeling a bit silly....

Now... your turn......
I've merged this with a recent thread on the same topic...which, granted, was buried on the third page of the forum.

I've been setting my alarm an hour early on Thursdays to allow extra time for watching the show before hitting the board. In bed, on my laptop with earbuds, after making coffee. Then I typically spend well into the weekend trying to keep up with the surge in posting activity.

I’m glad people are watching on BIG screens, but no even slightly weird pre-watch rituals? Nobody has even attempted the Kolinahr?

My reply about shrimp quesadillas seems a bit odd in this thread, post-merger.
uh, anyway, CBS app on the PS4 on the TV

Screen size is funny. I did the math and the effective size of my PC's monitor -- meaning how much of my field of vision it takes up -- is the equivalent of having a 70 inch TV in my living room. The 70 inch TV, if I had one, would have more pixels, but at the greater distance, would I be able to tell?

My cell phone alarm is "Good Morning Good Morning"...is that wild enough?
