how are they gonna move it? Cabin Fever spoilers...

They're going to play American Idol on an endless loop until the island get so sick of it that it just ups and leaves.

^

That statement confuzzled me...what about the island that they 'work' on...where Sawyer et al were held captive last season? Does that need moving too?

I don't know if there's really a "teleporter" or if there are simply wormholes from the Island to various established points on the globe, such as the Sahara and Oregon.

I just saw part of a History channel (or was it Discovery?) show about the theory that the Bermuda Triangle is linked by a wormhole thru the Earth to something called the "Dragon's Triangle" off the coast of Japan. Something like that.

I'm more interested in "when" are they gonna move it. Isn't the helicopter with the bad guys already over the island?

The Vile Vortex theory.

Just a random thought, anybody read Gullivers Travels? In the story there's a flying island called Laputa, full of scientists, astronomers, mathematicians and it's powered by a... giant magnet. While I don't think the island will fly, I couldn't help but make the connection.

How To Move The Island Theories
-------------------------------------------
1. Really big magnet like was just suggested earlier
2. Vile Vortex which was also mentioned earlier
3. Einstine / Roesenberg Bridge ( space / time type deal )
4. The island is actual a giant turtle and they hang a giant carrot in front of it on the end of a pole
5. They get a whale to push it like in the original Doctor Dolittle
6. Some technobble sudoscience engineering double talk generator
7. MAGIC (hope ILM isn't too busy with Star Trek to work some here)
8. Some kinda Du Ex Machina the writers pull out of their butts ;)
9. The Plot Device Generator Du Jur
10. None of the above

I think of it as the Mystery Spot theory. :D

Anyone ever been to one of those? Classic tourist traps!

This is my favorite theory so far.

The Orchid has a home cinema room. They will show Old Yeller, using a Reality Manifold Feedback Loop so that the island can watch. It will be moved to tears, and swim away in an attempt to find a shop that sells bloody great enormous tissues to soak up the torrent of tears flowing from it's....uhh....eyes? And also to get chocolate.

The Island really is a soppy old get.

:D
