House: Series Wind Down Thread (Series Discussion, Spoilers!)

Triple dose?

larger?

It's why he was ridiculously and illegally risking death.

It's like how idiot hillbillies try to cook turkeys in 1/2 an hour by using jet fuel.

I've recently been getting that fightclub vibe again.

Are Wilson and house the same person?

I don't think the dose was to put the cancer into remission, but simply to shrink the tumor just enough to enable a surgical attempt at removal. If he were to use chemo to try to eradicate it, then yes, it would take a lot longer and with a lighter dosage. I get the impression, however, that the latter treatment was not going to work, which is why Wilson opted to do last night's rather risky procedure and hope for the best in surgery. Guess we'll see next week if it worked or not. I'm thinking maybe not, as the preview showed him cutting loose, buying the Vette and starting to act like House.

Just caught up on the latest episode. It was driving me nuts trying to place where I knew Dr. Mom from. She was Maggie on Rubicon.

House on yet another road trip in Southern California, New Jersey. Meh.

Those mountains ALMOST looked like the Appalachians. Almost.

I'm still wrapping my head around them just leaving the 'Vette in that field. WTF?

Oh, and, while I understand respecting the dead and the feelings of the bereft. I also can not STAND waiting for a funeral procession. I was driving home once with three hours left to go when I got stuck behind one on a local upstate NY highway. Screw it, I passed them. I had to sit and wait for one at an intersection last week on my way to the deli - ten minutes of my lunch break wasted. Respect for the dead, sure, but us live people have things to do and places to be - they don't any more.

Nice episode. I guess we will be seeing the series 'Chase' in the Fall.

I loved the moment with Wilson and House on the Bus and House telling Wilson that if he was Kyle he would have ditched the old lady and him. There are moments like that throughout the series that have not just been spoken to a character but spoken to me too. I'm gonna miss this show.

Well, it's about time Chase left. He certainly needed to get on with his life. So, what will the last two episodes hold--aside from the last minute appearance of Olivia Wilde?

I have a feeling that the Thirteen in the last two episodes is going to turn out to be a Vicodin-induced hallucination like Amber in Season 5. It wouldn't surprise me that House has been consuming more Vicodin than usual while going through the stress of Wilson's cancer. David Shore did mention that next week's episode will have a twist ending that goes back to what he said about actions having consequences. I think this may be it. The reveal of Thirteen as a Vicodin-induced hallucination will set up a choice for House between continuing his Vicodin use which will worsen the hallucinations and going to rehab for treatment. It sounds like a repeat of the Season 5 ending but the circumstances are different because House has been down that road before and his life hasn't improved at the end of it. He has lost Cuddy, went to prison, lost Chase as a team member, and has to face a life without his best friend who has decided not to undergo chemo.

^^^ Didn't House promise to euthanize Thirteen if her disease got too bad? Perhaps she is returning to ask him to do just that.

Last wek we were led to believe that she's doing nothing much else but ****ing and breathing. on a tropical island.

Of course, they can play with time.

Skip ahead ten years.

Or they could fake us out.

"I'm so glad you agreed to meet me house. 15 years ago, you agreed to euthanize me if my Huntingtons got too bad."

'That I did."

'Which is why I'm so glad they discovered a cure 5 years ago."

"Wilson wsn't so lucky."

"I know, they discovered a cure for cancer a week after I smothered him in his sleep."

"It's funny how things work out."

House: 8x21 "Holding On"

From TV.com:

While the team treats a college student who suffers from nosebleeds and hears his deceased brother speaking to him, Thirteen returns to Princeton and Foreman takes a different tack with House.

House's penultimate episode runs tonight. The two-hour series finale is next week.
