"..and we hope we never see him again!" Aw.

Ewwww! That was unexpected! Cake smash!

So how much time has passed?

I voted "excellent". Very unusual beginning to the season.

I voted "Excellent" but now I want back to status-quo.

Very interesting episode and a great character drama/look at House. Now how long until he's back to himself? ;)

I voted "Excellent".

Shame it didn't last a few more episodes.
Pretty much my only complaint with the show, they come up with a good story line then pretty much end it by the end of the episode then they run the crap like Tritter into the ground.

That sex scene with Franka Potente was pretty intense. With the music and the way it was shot, it was very "Solaris-like", for lack of a better term. It was a kind of mood we've never seen on the show before.
It's been interesting, but I'm kind of glas we'll be -mostly- "back to normal" next week.
Looks like he'll be making at least some effort to stay "better". I always thought that a Dr. House who's trying to do better would lack what made him a fun and interesting character, but it looks like they might make it work.

Excellent episode by the way. It was different and I liked the guest cast quite a bit. It was also a good look into House, the man. I wouldn't have minded if this had continued for a few more episodes.

I hope he stays "better". It would suck if he just instantly went back to his old self. If that happens, it should happen gradually.

I voted 'Excellent', but I thought that it was pretty lame that the whole arc was a mere extra-long episode.

Not bad, but I'm a little dubious how an escaped inmate, who through criminal negligence allows a fellow, and possibly technically kidnapped inmate, to almost die, could ever get a medical license back, much less not be charged.

That one's up there with destroying the MRI machine.

I just wanted to say that I finally figured out my favorite scene: House in the hospital room with the Psych's dad and him. It showed that House was starting to break his pattern.

Frankly I hope that they keep House like this for a while if not the rest of the series.

I would also like to know why that doctor didn't get in trouble for facilitating House's escape.

He's House. Not only does he have enough charisma to get away with anything, he has so much of it that it rubs off on other people, allowing them to get away with stuff too.

What I found interesting about that scene was that it showed how little Nolan knew about House. Nolan assumed that House was playing one of his mind games, when House was ruminating on Nolan's past, when House was simply being his usual self. What Nolan took as House's emotional brutality was House's unflinching honesty.

Considering all of the medical blunder House has made during his tenure and still manages to keep his medical license -as well as affordable malpractice premiums- the incident with "Freedom Fighter" seems par for this paticular course in that if the ends justify the means then all if forgiven. Well, in this case it wasn't so much the ends but the desired ends. (What House was doing for Freedom Fighter, in essence, wasn't all tha bad and may have been "good" for him had he not decided to jump off a parking garage.)

It's interesting that House was allowd so much stubble but also has his head buzzed, also that they'd keep him in Rapper-Guy in the same room after their "fight."

Again, excellent episode but I'm ready to get back to the "medical mysteries" and House's way of practicing medicine, I also reiterate that it makes little sense to put somone with strong depression/anti-social issues int he same ward with people who've got serious, deep, mental problems that range from catatonia, disabling claustrophobia and other severe mental problems.

I liked the episode in terms of character, but I find a lot of the plot machinations to be borderline ridiculous. What drugs was House supposed to be on for what psychological diagnosis, exactly?

Nolan gave him SSRIs during talk therapy, so I presume that the pills House wasn't taking earlier was also an SSRI of some stripe. Based on the drug, they were treating House for depression or anxiety.

Anyone familiar with the music played throughout this episode? The cello solo was I think Bach, but other than that .....

Or maybe premature ejaculation.
