House, MD. 5x10 "Let them Eat Cake" - Discussion and Spoilers

This isn't the first time House has made reference to hookers.

Infact in a second(?) season episode we see him hiring the services of what seems to be a high-dollar call girl.

It's been mentioned many times in the past that House employs the services of prostitutes on a regular basis.

Anyway, let's see... Taub demanded 30% of Kutner's profits from the website, Chase 25%, and House 50%. That leaves Kutner with -5%. Doesn't quite add up. Clearly there will have to be some renegotiating, and clearly House will win.

Taub only got 30% while HOUSE didn't know so Kunter will get 25%

Huh... I haven't seen all of those episodes, so it's more than likely I haven't seen such references made.

I've never been a shipper of any series except this one. I wish Cuddy and House would stop dicking around and hook up already.

Absolutely hilarious ending with the chick, Taub and Kutner! :guffaw:

Great episode. Though I quickly lost interest in the POTW; not completely, just to a lesser degree than the rest of what was going on. I wonder how it would be if you did one episode where House has no case at all...he could go on a spree through the clinic patients trying to find one! Seriously, it would be a great opportunity for some character development; not necessarily in that storyline but in others.

I noticed one other thing: we're almost at the 100th episode aired. Think they'll do anything special?

Hopefully, any ideaa wha happened to the PI character and the spinoff for next season or midseason ? I can find nothing.

I direct you to Season 3's "One Day, One Room", which is a lot like you just described and is pretty awesome.

Not happening from what I understand.

This episode was okay--I wasn't invested in the POTW, but I did like that she was more in the forefront than recent POTWs have been. Loved Kutner's scheme--with House, though, it was bound to backfire on him.

House needs to grow up. I'm not really a fan of the House/Cuddy pairing, but I felt bad for her when she kind of opened up to him and his response was to grab her boob.

I felt really bad for Thirteen in this ep--what an awful thing to have to live with, knowing that her mother died thinking she hated her (mom probably knew differently, but still) and never having had the chance to say goodbye.

Depends if Kutner really has to honor Chase's share. Chase only asked for a share in exchange to run a test and to keep House out of the loop. Since Chase didn't have to run the test, as the woman wasn't really sick, and House already knew. I'd say Chase's share is nonexsistant.

;)

Well, for House, that kind of was opening up to her in return...:p

I just looked up the episode, wondering if it was one of the ones I missed in Season 3; it wasn't, and I remembered it. The difference in what I was thinking is that he wouldn't actually find an official patient, which he did in "One Day, One Room". Still, you're right, they are pretty similar. Never mind. :)

It was mentioned in the first few episodes of this season, and occassionally over the years, like when Wilson roomed with House.

Did anyone else get the impression from the trailer that next week's episode will go back, at least in part, to the quirky clinic patient storyline? I've missed those.

I finaly saw the episode and I have two things to say...

1) I new the teaser would be another fake-out.

2) I knew House was pulling something with that dead patient. I wasn't surprised. As Christopher said, it was the way it played out. What did surprise me though was that he wanted the site to stay up and that he'd take a cut. Also, early on, I thought this was a set-up for trouble and lawsuits for House in some future episode.

House eats lawsuits for breakfast.

;)

(Kutner/Kumar did when talking to Taub/PS about the website something about New Jersey law allowing for this type of diagnosis/referral if the "patient" is informed which, I'm guessing, they are on the website's TOS before comitting the money.

I do kind of wonder what portections and assurances are on place on such a website and how PPTH/Cuddy would feel about the website and just the potential for legal trouble. Becuase I'm guessing, like many things, it could be more expensive to stand up for the hospital's/House's rights in court than it would be to settle.
