On the bright side, there's now a perfectly good reason for Cuddy not to be on the show next season - she GTFO of Jersey and ran for her life!!!

But how are they going to justify House being allowed to practice medicine still, is he going to become a prison doctor now?

Beach bum / doctor!

They're takin' the show in a whole new direction next season!

:techman:

I suppose he could have bought a used vehicle in cash and driven over the border into Mexico...

Even though the Canadian border is so much closer to New Jersey...

It's possible that he went to Canada and then hopped a plane to some island, but I imagine it would safer to just go straight to Mexico via car.

Have you seriously never looked at a map?

If House was still in NJ, there shouldn't be a sunset over the Atlantic. This may imply that he's some place where the beach faces west.

There aren't any palm trees in jersey either, believe me.

What car?

To be specific, going by Google Maps, it looks to me like the quickest route from Princeton, NJ to anywhere in Mexico (I picked Nuevo Laredo, which seemed closest) would be a bit over 1,900 miles and would take 1 day, 7 hours of uninterrupted driving. More realistically, assuming stops for sleep and food, it would probably take at least 3 days. It would pass through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.

For comparison, driving from Princeton to either Montreal or Niagara Falls would take about 400 miles and just under 7 hours.

Not to mention that House left his car in Cuddy's dining room. Since the police would've been looking for him shortly thereafter, it would've been tricky for him to rent a car.

I wonder if Lisa Edelstein will make a guest appearance next season, or if there will at least be some mention of her or from her. If not, I guess this is how it ends with Cuddy and House... On a bad note.

Did you really see things ending between them on a good note?

^ With that House charm, yeah. I saw her walking away from House hating him on the surface, but deep down, still kind of liking and respecting him. That's the kind of effect he has on people.

This was a little too far out for me. Understand him being pissed and all, having his cathartic moment or whatever, but this was too much. When he last looked in the window, all 4 of them were at that table (didn't see Rachel). Drove away, didn't see in the window for a minute, then put his car straight through the house. Could have easily killed all 4 (or 5) of them, and had no way of know that as he sped towards the house.

No way that's excusable, and seems a pretty open/shut case of attempted murder and serious jail time. Unless the final season is House: Mexico, not sure where this goes.

Expected something more like throwing the hair brush through the window or something, this was just way past the line, and goes from him just having a lot of quirks and problems, to being an unlikable character at this point.

Given House's observational skills, we can perhaps surmise that when he looked in the window, he recognized that the group was finishing up and clearing the table, and thus would probably have moved out of the dining room by the time he got back. Even so, "probably" isn't "certainly," so at the very least this is reckless endangerment as well as wanton destruction of property. (And literally breaking and entering. Or not braking and entering... ;) )

Indeed.

He has done a lot of over-the-top stuff but this? This was just quite a bit past the line.

When you put your car through an ex's picture window, after seeing her with another man, no way you're NOT getting attempted murder on that one. He can 'guess' they were about to leave the room, but no way to know that all 4 would get up and walk out together, or that dessert wasn't coming out, Rachel wouldn't walk across the room to mommy, etc.

Past behavior, while usually messed up, at least conformed to some sort of right/wrong code, even if it wasn't one we'd recognize. This was flat out wrong, and he kinda lost me there. Recognize the URGE to do this, but he's dangerously close to a lost character at this point. He accepted the risk that he could kill people doing this, and went for it. It's past the 'what crazy antics will he come up with THIS week?' and into psychopath territory

That whole sequence was abysmally shot and edited. I had to watch it twice to understand that House, while acting recklessly, wasn't necessarily trying to murder someone.

When House is looking in the window at everyone at the table, the window's to the right of the door. When he's walking away after the crash, his car's to the left of the door. So he actually crashed into a different room. But it was really poorly put together. It comes off like House is a complete psychopath when in fact, he's just a big fucking baby throwing a tantrum.

Intent for first degree murder includes an intentional act with a reckless disregard for human life--it's call "depraved heart." Running your car into a house where you know people were seated, and for all you know people still are, would likely qualify.

The action also provides implied malice for attempted felony murder in the second degree--death during commission of a non-enumerated felony due to an act that is inherently dangerous to human life.

Attempt requires preparation and a substantial step to carry out the crime.

Or attempted vehicular murder, the attempted killing of someone with a vehicle and no alcohol involved, knowing that harm would occur if the action was taken.

Would get into it more, but busy. Needless to say, he's up for attempted murder in a number of ways.

What if they just hit the reset button and in the first scene next season House wakes up in hospital from an overdose and realises he was just dreaming? :D

It's usually important that the viewer like, or somehow care about, the main character.

I haven't liked this man for quite a while now. He's gone from eccentric to psychotic.

Uh yeah. But being as this is a dramatic TV series and not law school, I was just pointing out the dramatic difference between aiming at a room you know to contain people and a room that probably doesn't.

Since House isn't a real guy, that's about as far as I felt the need to think it through.

That ending is exactly why House season 8 should be short as possible because whre can you go from here especially over the course of another season. Season 8 I feel is going to see the eventual death of our grump Doc.

But yeh I can't help but the feel House jumped the shark or in this case with no way back.
